i got it the first time just making sure that you meant its possible to run 4ohm on a 2 ohm amp. i didn't know that about 2ohm amps, thanks. if i did wire them to 4 ohms my 2ohm amp is only rated 500rms, 4ohm load would only give subs over 100watts each while subs rated 1000rms. ten percent of rated powering gonna go in the subs.. it'll play but not sure how that would sound if it bumps enough for my liking ill keep it that way.  im just trying to make the most of my stock electrical right now before committing to get the alt n bat but its definite. I saw a smd video about the audio control 300 watt mono amp. powering 2 24 in subs rated 2000rms each and its bumping pretty loud. that makes me wonder if underpowering my skars with a 500 or 1000 watts rms amp while keeping stock electricals. your thoughts?

Well, regardless of output, like I said before, I'd rather run 4 ohm, a little over 100 watts each, than just one voice coil.

That being said, I don't think you'll be satisfied with the output. If the amplifier is only rated for say 200 watts at 4 ohm, after impedance rise, those subs will be lucky to see 75 watts a piece. You'll hear them, and your rear view mirror will shake a little, but the subs won't really be moving enough to actually create any pressure. Sure, there's a chance you might be satisfied. I don't really know your listening preferences, but, if I had to guess, I guess you won't. It'll definitely get you moving to get that electrical up to the task though.

I dont want to mess with the wiring on the mtx enclosure to wire it to 4ohm. I just got the sundown sfb 1000d which still under power the 2 skars i have by half rated 1000rms each. comparing that to my current set up now 500rms amp powering 2 500rms mtx subs.. underpowering the subs by half its rated is banging enough for me. the evls should still tear it up like before when i had them hook up on the 2200 hifonics amp. and i doubt i was pulling 2200 with my stock electricals probably just half if not less. the sfb should be just fine since its not as power hungry as the 2200 amp. im about to get install the sfb amp to power the mtx for tonihgt. ill switch the skars tomrrow. just want to hear my mtx finaly get tis rateed rms power. well at 20hm the sfb is rated at 850 watts but in youtube dyno tests it actually push out just over 1krms. and at 1ohm it pushed over 1600rms which i still doubt ill be able to pull with my stock electricals but hoping it doesn't not reduce its power again like the hifonics did.
