  1. So my man got followed home, and while this isnt directed at him, it is directed at the other posts in the topic with all the threats of violence. If you guys are serious about what you said, you have some major anger issues and you should get professional help working them out. Im serious as a heart attack. To say that you would shoot someone for stealing your stuff is the natural reaction but is not the answer. I own several firearms, but would I ever kill someone for stealing from me? FUCK NO! THAT IS THE MOST RETARDED THING I HAVE EVER HEARD OF IN MY LIFE! Listen, if life is in danger, you have every right to shoot someone (Ill be honest, I keep a mac loaded for just such an occasion, and I will empty the clip.) But if your amplifiers life is in danger, you dont have the right to kill someone, or attempt to kill someone for it! Read the self defense laws in your state if you dont believe me. If I was in the jury box, and I heard the defense attorneys story of how you killed or attempted to kill someone for breaking into your car/ stealing it/ stealing the stereo stuff, I HAVE NO MERCY AND WOULD RECOMMEND THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE. I work hard for my stuff, and I would never risk my freedom for any material thing that I own. My cars have had excellent security measures taken, nothing will be smash and grab, and if they take the whole car then oh well, thats what insurance is for. I have bought all of my stuff (my beater is the sig, have more) legally and have all of the serial numbers and receipts ready if the day ever comes. You guys dont sound tough at all, I have lost respect for everyone who posted threats and what ifs on that post. Work harder, get the insurance, and make the right choices if the night comes that youre followed home or your alarm goes off. If my alarm goes off, and they can tolerate the sirens, I wont even get out of bed, they can have it and Ill be bumpin again in no time. One of the thing I liked about Steve from the start was that he didnt let his emotions get the best of him when his Civ got took, and it wasnt insured! More power to ya, main. ray, accordman, groundpounder, burrito, steve, megalo, chode, (if I forgot anyone my bad) I still love you guys but this place is getting out of control. I feel like is become another RF, that teenage punks are fighting for that post count status rather then posting knowledgable, supported, sane advice. The threats was the last straw. Im not popular, but I do have the best security set up and it is untouchable, unless you are deaf! Austins whips: Beater - 95 civic hatch, B18 inside stock outside(sig stereo)AMMAYAY custom alarm(smoking cobalts since they came out, you know who you are and you still live with mom) Truck - 00 chevy 2500, 8" lift, 4 p3 12"s ported, 2 kicker 750s AMMAYAY custom alarm(no krylon center console or dvd player that is worth more then the truck here, watching brokeback mountain in 5.1 but no beat, you know who you are) Wife - 07 Accord coupe, stock, not allowed to alter (pussy is THE trump card) New project - 1997 Accord SE, 5 speed, AMMAYAY custom alarm VER 2, 10kw rf/ kicker system coming 2007 SO BOOOOOOOM, IM OUTIE.....GOOD LUCK, ALL YOU OTHER TURDS CANT KEEP UP WITH ME!!!! AUSTIN M MURPHY (AY AY)
  2. I also kill the subs 3-4 miles before getting to a parking lot or my neighborhood. Not only does it hide the fact that I got something, it also lets the battery get a good charge. You shouldnt have anything to worry about.
  3. Are you looking for a shop or are you going to do it yourself?
  4. a top of the line security system is more reliable, it wont go off at random times for no reason, its relatively louder, over all Quailty= price And the installation makes all the difference. I do a lot of restoration/ repair for insurance companies at the dealership that I work at. Nine times out of ten: -the drivers window was busted out (ususally porcelin is the weapon of choice) -the hood was popped -the battery cable was cut or the siren was disabled -the system was removed (steps 1-3 can take under 7 seconds) in a few cases: -the sunroof was busted out, the thief went through the roof, went under the drivers side dash and cut the power supply to the brain -the fender was cut through, the hood release cable was accessed, hood popped, battery cable cut To beat them, you must think like them. All of the things that I had repaired were taken into consideration when installing my alarm. That being said: -the hood cable was rerouted to the inside of the engine compartment and relocated to the glove box which locks. The stock lever is still in its place and when pulled sets off the alarm but does not do anything. -same for the trunk release, rerouted to a secret location -the brain is not where it is usually installed, dash removal is necessary to access -the brain is protected with backup batteries -all of the sirens are fused (2 six tone, 4 piezo) -all of the wiring is routed through the factory harnesses -the starter interupt isnt tied to the starter, its tied to the fuel pump relay -no wires can be seen If they want the stereo theyll have to take the car. Young punks dont know how to steal cars, well most of them anyway
  5. Got both of those and a motion senser. Didn't seem to bother them too much as they were busting up my shit. I have four piezos in the interior of my daily driver. They hurt. Plain and simple. The frequency is high and piercing. Two are in the hvac dash vents and cannot be accessed/ disabled. One is located near the alarm brain, and the other is a secret.
  6. First, thank you for replying. You are trusted advice! yes, chrysler dealer tech. No, she sold them to recoup some $. Are you talking about the tire pressure sensors, there has not been a problem with them (like the stupid low tire light). The fact that the speedo is inop, not inaccurate, but the speed sensor registers on a scope has got me stumped. I will tell you that I dont know anything about hypertech programming, but if returning the car to factory fixes the speedo and check engine light, Ill make the recommendation to seeing a rim dealer. If that is the problem, I dont know why the rim place would have told her that thats not their problem, unless it was steven q. dickheads' discount rims and they werent pros. I how to fix the chrysler products, not the effects of aftermarket products. And even with 80K, it is one nice 300! Thanks again! Austin
  7. thanks man, youre trusted advice! And I did get that 97! (evil grin - 10kw coming!) All of the modules that are involved (PCM, FCM, CCN) do not indicate a component failure (i.e. speed sensor voltage hi/lo/open/shorted/message N/R, or module fault). Even a loose cable would have set a DTC. C.A.N. sucks, and is overly complicated. they should have stuck with PCI/SCI busses when the finally had it right! On the bright side, All CAN will be out of warranty someday!
  8. A car came into my dealership today from another dealer, who could not fix this car. This 2006 Chrysler 300C had the factory wheels replaced with a 265/35/R22 wheel and tire combo. From the moment (according to the owner) that it left the rim place, the check engine light came on, and the speedo was inop. The rim place told them to see the dealer, all that they did was bolt on some rims. The dealer (who she bought the car from in December 2005) tried "everything" to fix it. The DTCs that turned on the check engine light were related to the speed sensor performance and speed sensor correlation. The previous dealer had replaced the: speed sensor (only one - no ABS on this 300), the PCM, the FCM, the output shaft speed sensor, and basically told her that she would need the whole wiring harness replaced (but without an explanation of why). Keep in mind that the factory warranty had expired (mileage), so she had been paying for everything. Ouch. I have worked on multiple LX cars with the big rims and have never encountered a problem before. According to the flow chart of the DTC's, the pinion factor AND the tire size needed to be correct before diagnosing. The only programmable wheel and tire combos are for the available factory options (17" and 18" wheels, each with two or three tire sizes). To cover all the bases, all of the related components were tested seperatly with no problems found. Even the WSS was working properly (per scope). Instead of throwing money at the problem, we advised her to put the factory wheels and tires back on, and to bring it back so that we could start factory fresh. We didnt charge her for our time today (we got a good show of her "goods" so we were in a good mood ). Too bad she sold the factory wheels to recoup some of the money she put out for the rims! I hate not having an answer, Im master certified in electrical/ electronics in Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles, so it really bugs the hell out of me. Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? I mean, worst case senario, the speedo would be off (like both my rides) but not flat out inop. Even Chrysler had no advice. Damn computers! Thanks in advance... (BTW chevyboy, emperor, and any other diarrhea post whores with no experience with this question please do not waste my time with your non supported, non logical, non experienced answers! You will be called out so just dont do it!) Austin
  9. Do yourself a favor, if you dont know something dont post it!
  10. Worst feeling is when your in the movies or some thing and you think your pager will let you know some things going on and reality it won't :- Ernesto this is not directed at you personally. What exactly would anyone do if their alarm pager went off? Run out into the parking lot, kick some ass, and make a citizens arrest? Would you just call the cops? Run out there like Tackleberry with unlimited ammo? Would you risk your life or your freedom for some stereo equipment? I believe the alarm pager provides a false sense of security and I wouldnt own one. A well installed stereo and security system can hold its own to minimize damage without your help.
  11. wow your $100 installed alarm is working great! Your factory stereo is safe from thieves!
  12. I would compare the 4 piezos to 3-4 smoke detectors confined to a cars interior
