  1. when you tested was bass boost all the way down on bass amps? and what about bass knob

    shame shame shame...should be using a LC1

School me on why one use the LC1 over bass knob

most bass knobs are gain adjustments or bass enhancers.

an lc1 cuts signal through the rca so that you arent introducing anything to the mix. your taking away up to 1200 percent of the bass by turning the knob down. Of course you set the amp with that knob all the way up though.

I wasnt fond of the LC1. I found that even when i turned the knob all the way down it still let a fair amount of bass through. I use a BC-101 basically the same thing. It does have another knob tho, I have yet to completly figure out what exactly its supposed to do. its adjustable from 40-150Hz. But yeah when setting your amps, make sure the knob is all the way open that way you have more control over the amount of signal you let through.

nothing to do with the DD1 but if you are using the CD to set it and playing music with an Iphone or Itouch there will be distortion. I saw the guy with the crescendo and btls was playing with an Iphone. if you didnt do it, you should of set the gains with the Iphone playing tones. something about the Iphones, the just put out more signal, my car when Itouch > Zune > CD it terms of what was louder on the same deck volume

This is an excellent point! Also something that I will include in the revised production owner's manual. If the customer's primary source is an iPhone, iPod, ect, the tracks from the CD should be ripped to the iPod at the highest bit rate possible, and then use that as the source for all testing. Also, very important, iTunes "Sound Check" HAS TO BE TURNED OFF during this process. If not the iTunes software will adjust the level of the tracks and mess you up.

This is very true. I say set your gains according to the way you listen to most music, for example if you listen to CDs more than anything else use a CD to set gains, If Ipod is your thing use that, USB...whatever it is use that source for best results.

  2. Why do people get all upset when they smell a fart and it stinks? Come one, consider the source WTF is it supposed to smell like! LOL

To answer the question tho, I think your own is not so offensive simply becasue its yours...other peoples freak you out because...its not yours. I dont mind wiping my own ass but Ill be damned if Im gonna wipe someone elses. I dont wanna be breathing in your ass air. You must have really let one go to even write this post, lol.

  3. Ok so all i know is if i hit a decent pot hole or go over a bump in the road to fast it feels and sounds like the truck is bottoming out. Now I am 6'3 and around 315lbs. I can stand on the bumper and bounce that truck pretty damn good but I cannot recreate what happens on the road. I can only assume that the truck is maxing out. I need to jack it up and check the frame and top of the rear to see if there looks like any metal on metal contact..if not maybe there is something else going on. All I know is I hate it so much I wish I never dropped my truck.

  4. haha, I have a tattoo across my stomach as well.. the worst one i have ever had done. Your right the sides are pretty damn tender. Looks good now tho. Mine sits a little lower and there is a lot more to it...I just been to chicken shit to have mine shaded. Outline for me! :D

Edit: I dig the red "shading" you got done around the letters, lol.

  5. The gun is practically brand new. I would sell it for as much as a sub compact goes for. I think they retail at like $450 where the full size goes for $550. I would have to check local tho and make sure I could get one at that price. Hell if its less then I will go lower than $450.

BTW you should come to the competition in Richmond on Sunday. You got FB?

  6. I have the DJM shocks. The rear kit is on correctly, I had a bit of trouble with it so i talked to Tony and he helped me so I am pretty confident its on correctly. I also have the TB spring so my truck sits 1/2" lower than the 5" Tahoe springs. Between that 1/2" and the stereo I expect my truck to be a little lower. It was suggested to me to install helper bags but for all that I would rather just replace the damn springs for bags and be able to go up when needed and down when I want.

But let me ask you, do you remember what exactly was wrong with your rear hardware kit?

  7. I already have the DJM 3/5.5 custom lowering kit on my truck now. Not a lot of travel left in the rear as it is. I even had to cut off the entire bump stop brackets in the rear. Problem is my axel hits frame if I hit a good bump in the road. I would like to be able to raise the rear some and lay it down a little when I park or something. Not looking to lay it out or anything. Simplest, cheapest fix for my problem is simply helper springs....but that's not cool looking at all, lol
