  1. troll. upset that the ported recommendation isnt correct, but wants to run sealed. leaves the biggest baby comment I have ever seen in a forum. and I mean that.
  2. I just told my dad the cabin was on fire and, not knowing anything about this event, he said "I bet it was from tear gas" so I guess thats a common outcome.
  3. you said silk then aluminum so I'm confused. in my opinion, thats too many tweeters without mids. we may like different things but if you go to a show, mostly everyone will share my opinion. just keep that in mind. dont get cheap ass PA super tweeters unless all you want to hear is a "TISS" over the bass.
  4. just stick with the same type of dome on the tweeter and you'll be ok. metal tweeters are brighter and silk domes are smoother. different people like different stuff.
  5. that's not quite how it works lol. the amp could be producing 5amps, for example, and .7v. the 4ohm load is neither constant or solely used to dictate the output of the amp in amperage. its not as simple as V/R=I in this situation.
  6. thanks for the spoiler dick head... hey fool, if you watched any preview/demo/update/trailer, you would have seen that it is no secret that prophet is in the game.........................................................................its not a spoiler............................... thats why I dont watch trailers. they always have spoilers.
  7. lots of tweeters and lots of bass and you think you need to care about "blending"??? you don't lol. look at partsexpress.com or woofersetc.com. they have a lot of individual speakers for sale. how are you wiring these up? dont come near me with this setup lol. tweetered out cars are fucking annoying.
  8. if you are just replacing your stock battery then it wont make much of a difference, but yes you could. If you want have any chance of seeing a change then don't get "an average" battery from walmart or something. get an XS battery.
  9. doesnt sound like trash to me. i would definitely test it before throwing away good money.
  10. he said in a low powered system it was better and the difference is negligible. plus everyone picks a different spot to ground to the chassis, some suck, but a run of wire is predictable. the most important factor is doing the method correctly rather than what method you choose.
  11. for one, copper is way more conductive than steel. 0awg wire is .000099ohms per foot. so a 20ft run of 0awg will be .00198ohms. do you really think you will notice that?then length alone doesn't mater at all. between one common ground vs multiple, I've always been told a common ground is best but I haven't seen anything bad when I did do multiple grounds. I stand by that the best way to ground your amps is to the battery. if you have a suplimental battery in the back, ground that battery to the front battery. when grounding to the frame, you need to remember that everything from your system and your car's electrical goes through the battery ground under your hood and it has to be upgraded.
  12. careful putting it on an ipod. don't want to be hammering a song at full tilt and then a 40hz tone comes on lol.
  13. Hmm... That's really strange. I've never had any issues with my OFC corroding. Maybe the jacket was slightly acidic or sealed in moisture or something? for the most part, our cars are a friendly environment. wire isnt subject to direct moisture so it souldnt be a real concern. perhaps what the other guy saw was the result of heat from a bad connection or over current. have you had issues with CCA corroding? Never thought about that... Now I'm curious too The only advantage I saw of aluminum over copper was weight the resistance in the aluminum VC vs. the copper VC will be the same, it has to be. now while copper is a better conductor of heat, it takes more energy to cool it down (and heat up) than it takes to cool down aluminum. so the air cooling, that speakers use, is more effective on aluminum.
  14. copper corrodes a lot faster than aluminum so it was the copper plating that gave you your problem. I've bought brand new OFC from JL and it was green when I took it out of the package. if you dont want wire to corrode, get tinned copper. the fuses protect against overloading the wire. in a comparison like this, they put more current than the CCA is rated for but the OFC can handle it. it would be like saying 8awg is crap because it cant handle 200amps but 0awg can handle it, so everyone should only use 0awg.
  15. ya ive seen a few of these comparisons. the trick is where price and needs meet. for instance, a run of 1/0 OFC is generally thought to be good for 300amps. if you have a draw of 400amps then one run of 1/0 OFC isnt enough. now you can get two runs of CCA for a lot cheaper than OFC and it will easily handle your 400amps.
  16. I dont think he gets on here anymore but... ya, I heard he wasnt a good guy to do business with from other locals. always sad to hear about a deal gone south. hope he does see this and does something.
