For wire soldering what brand does everybody use and is there a preference in irons?

I use a Weller soldering iron, that's what I learned with in school so I got one.

same... step dad gave me his weller, and its worked like a champ all this time....

Weller all the way.
Buy the adjustable soldering station, well worth the extra money.
