  1. 4" x 2"? 16" deep. maybe i wont be able to face these forward. might have to lay them down and face em up.
  2. sweet thanks. and as long as the volume of the port is the same, i can change it accordingly, yes? just as far as length and width
  3. yes i'm sorry, 4 cubes of air per sub, each in it's own box. one sitting on top of another facing forward
  4. their site recommends 3-5 cubes. i asked steve and he recommended 4. it might be slightly more than 4 cubes per box cuz i want to extend the front with a lil glass to add some character. so it'll be a tad bigger
  5. hey thanks man i appreciate it. any special placement? thinking maybe have one in each corner so that all 4 are in the same spot when installed, or maybe have 2 on top left, 2 on top right? that's if it'd all sound the same
  6. posted before about boxes for 4 fully loaded 15" btl's, now asking about the port maybe i'm used to the big big box i've been using, but for 4 cubes of air (without port size) the dimensions are 21"W x 17.5"H x 25.5"L or 1.75' x 1.46' x 2.25' (4.04 cubes to be exact after wood and sub displacement). and that seems small. very small to me (old box was 10 cubes of air). front has to be 21" x 17.5 in order to fit all 4 subs. i WAS going to wall it off, but given these dimensions, i might not have to. the space i have to work with is 42"W x 49"L x 35"H what size port should i make with the dimensions i gave for the box? i'd still like to do the interchangeable port for comps if possible. if not then one single port would be ok seeing as how i'd rather have a good daily driver. or if you have better dimensions for 4 boxes that would fit in that given space, feel free to post . like i said, i'm asking a lot of questions because i'd like the best build for the system. thanks again
  7. pics are a must. i plan on having this setup a while. i wanna get started asap that's for sure.
  8. just depends on fitment issues. one box would be easier as far as work, 2 boxes be easier fitting in cuz the opening in the back isnt as big as it is inside. but i might have enough room to lower it a couple inches. just make it a tad longer. hopefully tomorrow i can get out and get some measurements done. might need all the heighth i can get, it's like 34 inches from the top to bottom. but yeah...i'll check
  9. hell yes. thanks. that's kinda something i was aiming for, a good mix between the two . gonna make two separate boxes, each with it's own chamber. 4 cubes of air, hopefully some glass on the front to add character, then wall it off behind the seats. not sure on dimensions tho. might have another thread about port size when i get the box dimensions down(regular and comp size). seems like in the past when i'd build a box, even to spec, it didnt quite turn out right. had a good one, but if it aint broke, dont fix it. and that's what i did lol.
  10. yeah i knew there was a line between straight comp boxes and daily boxes. was curious as to if there's a safe mix between the two. maybe a removable port? single boxes, or two boxes with their own chamber might be better, just as far as fitment in concerned. opening in the back isnt quite as big as the inside of it. so maybe i'll build two separate boxes. thanks for the tip. there's a LOT i dont know about box design. i see some seriously complicated boxes and just think ???
  11. i am going to get 4 15" fully loaded BTL's and was wondering what the best box to put them in would be. 5 cubes by themselves ported? i always heard it's best to put them in their own box or if it shares a box, to put a separater to separate the subs. but lots of vehicles i've seen lately have 2 to 4 subs in one BIG box. any differences in the two? should i put all 4 in a box with about 20 cubes and brace the hell out of it? if so how big should the port be? i have a lil more than 20 cubes of airspace available. nothing bigger than 42"W x 33"H x about 40" long. i also heard that it's loudest if subs face up, and port faces back. but with 4, i'm probably going to have to wall it off. it's going to be going in a daily driver that wants to compete can anyone help me with box/port dimensions? i just want the best build possible. if you can i'd love you forever
