  1. yeah, i had a feeling water cooled systems were really really technical. that's why i'm checkin around first >.< i'll probably go with an air cooled one for familiarity reasons. so use 2 gigs of ram and faster processor? gotcha. thanks
  2. ok so i'm looking to build a new computer (after i finish my system of course, priorities first), probably through the winter since car projects come to a halt. figured i'd build it so it'd last a little longer than store bought ones. what i'm wondering is, are liquid cooled computers 'better' than normal ones? as far as gaming. or does it not really matter as far as specs are concerned? what's the average price difference from a normal PC to a water cooled? for a decent computer and lastly what would i need to build a water cooled PC? i pretty much know what i'd need for a normal PC i want one with at least 2 GHz and 4 gigs of ram. could use the hard drive from this comp. maybe get a new dvd burner. gonna play games like doom 3, f.e.a.r., unreal tourny, and bioshock. need something pretty beefy to get the full potential out of f.e.a.r., which is amazing looking. thanks for the help like always
  3. word. i got a sub from UPS, took over a month of fighting and arguing cuz they broke the packaging, and wanted to charge for shipping and whatnot. box was HORRIBLE
  4. hmmm...ok. better play it safe
  5. that's the reply i was hoping for! it wont be turned up very loud very often. maybe just to brighten my day with my budget, i was gonna get 2 4000 watt amps and wire a pair @ 1 ohm. then the possibility to wire @ 2 ohm is there if need be. btw the box is 16 cubes (plus just a tad, but stays in the recommendation) ported tuned to 32hz. i had people from this site help me with all of that
  6. i'm gonna get 4 fully loaded 15" FI btl's (2 should be here tomorrow) and i've been tryin to decide on the amp to get. i know a few people put more than 2k on these for daily driving. hell i saw a magazine where a guy put 8k to one 18", given it was an spl vehicle tho. would it be safe to put 4k on these daily? using either a t40001bd or a memphis mojo mcd4kw? or i was thinking of 3000ish watts from a hifonics @ 1 ohm or it be safer to put 2k to each? mostly for daily driving. want a loud mofo daily driver, but be able to attend comps here n there
  7. which post? i bought a pair of em, gonna be gettin another pair. maybe i should've waited
  8. i like this model over the first one a lot more. not as boxy. and i like the color tons. EDIT: i like hypnotiq too, so the bottle in back would most likely be empty
  9. yeah the port is in the back. i think the hardest thing i'm trying to deal with is if i want to see all 4 from the front seat(cuz it'll make me feel warm and fuzzy inside everytime) or if i want to see 2, or see the 4 from the back when i show people. /shrug
  10. that's sort of what i was leaning towards. just wanted some professional opinions. thanks
  11. amps are either memphis mojo or rockford t40001. electrical...200 amp H/O alt, got extra batteries, but gonna upgrade em soon anyways
  12. sorry for a dumb question, but i'm gonna be gettin 4 fully loaded 15" BTL's. i understand ohms and what they do, but what kinda gets me (and i dno why) are the ohms on subs. what's the difference of a 1 ohm sub and a 2 ohm sub as far as putting power to em? i'm most likely gonna get a pair of 4k watt amps hooked at 2 ohms to power em. question is should i get 1 ohm model? or 2 ohm for the most out of my amp? or should i get the universal model to change it? will possibly change to 1 ohm for comps, or if they can just handle the power period. thanks
  13. hmmm...i got time to think. i think ima order the subs before i start doin anything cuz it'd suck big time if my rings were too small. pretty sure they're good, but wouldnt be surprised. universal option on the sub, yes?
  14. or maybe the front two in each corner facing out kinda like the one in the pic is, then the two in the back facing same direction but pointing inward? GAH! decisions decisions...
  15. lol wouldnt be surprised if i do. seriously as soon as i get close to finished with an idea, i start over hell maybe i could sell some stuff around here and earn extra cash. hmmm...1 in each corner...2 on the sides facing out, and 2 in the middle facing up. uh oh dont get me thinkin...lol
  16. lol possibly. funky as hell shape tho and the volume is for 4, but in the future when i can afford more, i could probably extend the box and put 6 in there. or 8 if i put 2 in the middle didnt get much work done today. rough day at work and i came home and fell asleep so no pics for now. still might try to play with the angles tho.
  17. and when you say overlapping, you mean with the back a lil higher than the front? so you'd see all 4 if you look in the back?
  18. 4 15" fully loaded BTL's. and either a pair memphis mojo amps hooked at 2 ohms, or 4 t20001's @ 1 ohm or 2 t40001's @ 2 ohm. might go for the 4k amps so i can hook em all 1 ohm for competition burps. tuned to 33hz.
  19. actually that's the back. crx style box, so that'd have em facing back. punkrok, there's gonna be 4 15's total. maybe 2 facing the back, 2 facing the front?
  20. it's ok i'm a pic whore too. but anyways this is what i got so far. trying to take my time and make sure everything is the way i want it. the port clamped as hell glued and screwed sides all put together my 40 year old router and my circle guide. i'm all about rigging somethin if it'll work. just screw the piece down in the middle of the circle, slide the bars into the holes, and just cut carefully nice sea of dust the rings after i got em all. pretty good i'd say for my circumstance. need to sand em a bit tho bracing aaaaaand this is what it's gonna resemble when it's done. not quite as angled maybe, maybe not so close to the edge, maybe flat? maybe inward? i dno. havent decided. trying to think which way will give the neatest appearance when you look in the back. any ideas? that's all i got so far. hopefully tomorrow i can decide how i wanna set the subs. maybe wrap it in fleece then get to glassing and get this puppy done. and i still gotta layer the inside with resin. so all this in itself will be a timely process. i'll post pics up asap
  21. omg. i'd be scared to sit inside that thing while it played. looks so intimidating. wish i could fast forward to it being done
  22. ok new dimensions of the box are: 42"W x 19.5"H x 41.5"L. gives 16.03 cubes of air, after wood and sub displacement. port - 9.08 x 9.08 x 5.26 now to go start measuring...
  23. hell yes. i wasnt sure steve's was daily or not. and this is the first time i saw yours. the first pic of all the amps made my jaw literally drop open. back to calculating new measurements. going for 16 cubes of air this time. going to post about the port again thanks for the help so far. i appreciate it like a ton
  24. btw, on the post you linked, so far your build is looking amazing
  25. crx style would be a lot simpler to make. all 4 subs be ok in one box like that? cuz i want it for daily driving hands down, but to compete when the time comes. or two crx boxes (one forward, one backward) like the before post mentioned. if i have to sacrifice a db or two to keep it daily, then so be it. basically one loud mofo of a daily driver
