  1. When did buttons become a premium on double dins and "might" touch screens  become cheap? touch screens don't always work for me don't know why.

Probably when technology advanced enough to make touch screens cheap and easy to implement over adding discrete components needed to add knobs/buttons to radios. Less moving parts.

  3. What's is cost for someone to do a recone on a ascendant audio mayhem 12?

      ChevyBoy95

It is worth it to spend the extra money on the guy who knows what he is doing. A buddy of mine does them for people around here and think he charges 50-60.

And I know how nerve racking it can be reconing a sub and not wanting to mess it up. My first recone was a level 5 18 I did.

  10. Digital Multi Meters... Fluke and Klein both make great equipment. I have a CL800 and it does what I need. What model DMM would you purchase if you had no $$$ limit?

    1. ChevyBoy95

      ChevyBoy95

I personally use a TPI 440 scope plus. Was 2 years out of warranty and they fixed it for free (new dial, battery, charging port (as well as repair since it wasnt working)). Then I would look into a DC/AC clamp with a true peak hold (rather than just hold where it locks what is on the screen). 440 plus if i remember right are like 350-400.

If I had no money limit, i would go for the best handheld oscope money could buy. Will do eveything a DMM can do, but also have a better visual readout as well as being about to see the wave if one is present.

I still think Kris is one of the few who did it correctly, or should I say cared about the "art" of it. Every song was around the same level and sounded good. Now you have guys where one song is -10, the next is -3, the next is -6, etc with mid and highs all over the place as well as guys rebassing stuff and not having it be on beat.

And depends on the substage as far as size of subs, power applied to them, and style of box (2 12's in a trunk dont equal 2 18s's in a wall).

Honestly depends on so many factors from power applied, location, size, axis, etc.

  20. ig i had powerball money, i would build a system that couldnt even play below 50hz but it would have like 30k on like 80 - 25khz. like snares and tom-toms would be painful lol

    1. ChevyBoy95

      ChevyBoy95

a few midrange compression horns per door will make mids painful.

    1. ChevyBoy95

      ChevyBoy95

Not problems at all, only issue is you cannot over tighten the screws that hold it on or it will crack.

Almost done with story, shit is solid as a Doom game. Seriously, gameplay is so solid, feels like old school doom with new graphics.
