  1. I really think you should save up for the 6970. They're definitely doing to drop in price around October, which is before all the latest and greatest stuff comes out anyway. Then again, I'm always one for saving up and getting the next model up :P

A 6870 or 6850 would be decent choices. I much prefer them over the nvidia cards.

Yea I was thinking about that but I know I cant wait till october, already been waiting a very long time to be able to play anything new. I will most likely stick with the 6850, for now at least. I could always sell it later when I get more cash for something better. Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

hey im liken it but, may i suggest 6 or 8gb of ram. it will help especially because ur using the 2500k.

If you read he has 2 x 4gb which is 8gb...

Also, like others have said, try to get a PSU from a more reputable company as it's something you do not want to skimp out on, considering it can be the one thing that makes or breaks the system.

I havent heard much about Ultra except that this particular psu is an extremely good buy (really good reviews). Very glad they steered me this way because I WAS looking at Kingwin and Rosewill till I heard they were pretty bad. I guess we will find out in a week or so if handles decently enough..STILL waiting on the ram to arrive tho, then gonna order the gpu on thursday.

EDIT: Something I might want to add, the ram is dual channel, not separately bought.

  2. The GTX460 is a very so-so card and going with two of them would just be silly. It's much easier and almost always more efficient to run a single card. Personally, I'd go with a Radeon 6970 and be done with it. If you for some reason want to stick with nvidia then go with the comparable GTX570. I largely prefer ATI cards.

Only problem with both those suggestions is I wanted to buy the card this payday so I could start playing my games and I cant afford a $320+ card atm and the 460 appears to be more than required for my games. If you have another suggestion, nVidia or ATI (really dont care), for $180 or lower please feel free to suggest them. Highly prefer around $150 tho

  3. SO I finally saved enuf money to build a computer to replace my old POS. Its not finished yet but this is everything I needed to get it up and running so Im curious what you all think so far.

cpu: Intel i5-2500k with stock cooler/fan (will overclock to at least 4Ghz when I upgrade my fan)

    motherboard: Gigabyte z68x-ud3h

    ram: G.Skill Ripjaws 1600Mhz DDR3 (2 x 4 gig)

    psu: Ultra X3 1000w

case: Cooler Master Storm Sniper (no pics of my personal comp)

    OS: Win7 Ultimate X64

HDD: 3.16tb HDD space (Will get a Sata3 SSD eventually for programs and OS)

On board graphics for now, will eventually get a gpu, possibly two.

  4. First off i want to say HOLY F**K that is cold bro....

Secondly what material is your dash??? Is it that leather type shit or vinyl or plastic???

Damn, im really not even sure. Id go check but everytime i leave the building i have to get buzzed in and they r getting pissed at me keep trying to start the car and coming bak in

  5. One thing was for road trips, me and my friend frequently take road trips, sometimes down to kansas even, so the bigger the selection we can have the better the trip ya know? Not to mention its just a hassle unplugging it from the car, plugging it into the comp, adding what i want, etc, everytime i decide i want something different then whats on there.
