  1. leads hooked to master amp only. didnt even think of that. so that would mean per amp then?
  2. Today, for the first time, I used my amm1 on a strapped pair of amps. Not that it matters, but the setup is 2 Sundown SCV 6000 strapped at 1 ohm. so each sees .5 nominal. I clamped 5800 watts through the positive side at .8. Since the amps are STRAPPED, does that mean that i was clamping 5800 watts out of 1 amp or both amplifiers. and was it seeing .8 ohm per amp? Please help lol p.s. nice to be here again. been a while!

  15. Heard a set of the SCV 3000s the other day, awesome sounding amps. He pounded on them for 45 mins or so, and no heat at all!
  16. So, this amp is doing stupid awesome power through 1 run of 1/0 gauge which is maybe 6 ft long. If its ofc wire, it should be able to carry about 300 to 350 amps of current through that length right? So if voltage times amps is watts..before efficiency is factored in...how could it pull that much power through 1 run? Just trying to figure this out
  17. I am stumped by this thing. I dont want to make a new thread, so, I figured that I could just ask here. Why wouldnt the alternators internal regulator cause it to be able to do exactly what the vcm does and "lock it at 14.8" we have one in our demo van because the alternator (dc 320spxi) did not seem to charge very well. Like it would charge at like 13.8 or so and stay that way when it was warm. Now, we have the vcm in it and we can get it to constantly charge at 14.8. Why doesnt the internal regulator already do that? And when does the limit of the alternator get reached when you have a vcm? I know you cant power a 20000 watt system with 1 alt, but in theory, couldnt you just continue to bump up the voltage on the vcm to be able to maintain a 14+ volt charge to the batteries? Would the alt just fry itself in that case? If anyone could shed some light on this subject for me, i would apprecuate it!

  19. "expensive" is all relative.... All my flip screen decks in the past (Pioneer Avic 1, 2 and 3's), my Alpine and Pioneer double din's......were all $1500 and up. I remember spending $1999 on my N1 at the time. So $1200 seems expensive until you look at the bigger picture. You get an Ipad mini, you get the dash kit, you get the kit ready to go for your vehicle. You not only have an ipad for a deck but you get to take it out and use it for other stuff. To me, it's worth it if you look at it like that. You can always do the work yourself if you got it like that I know i could but once in a while, i don't mind having the work done for me. Plus, those guys are getting damn good at it. Damn right they are good at it! I think I have watched about every episode of amplified that exists hah! I hope you enjoy it Steve! Im looking forward to trying an ipad install on my buddies f150 soon!
