  1. I do, they're pretty badass. Check out my Cutlass Cierra build in my sig. :drinks: The impedance curve runs a bit high on them since they are intended for home audio amps. You might want to contact Fi before you order and see if they can optimize them for car audio use. Mine aren't optimized for car audio so I'm using a pair of Bazooka MGA 1100H strapped. The rated output of the amps is 1560 watts strapped at 2 ohms, because of the impedance curve I'm probably sending about half that much to the pair of subs. Great subs. Good luck with your build. :yahoo:

  2. SOLD SOLD SOLD

I've got two ONE LEFT JBL w15GTi subs for sale. These are 15" subs, for those wondering. These are practically new. I ran them in my Suburban for a day, less than 30 min play time. These were originally going to be used in my home theater setup along with another pair I've have. Needless to say two was more than enough, so these sat in my dinning room along with the fine china. I got my eyes a some new toys so these have to go. They are very nice and sound very good. Asking $300 ea shipped with in the 48 states. Here is a link to a page where specs and box recommendations can be seen:

Thanks for looking. Have a great day.

  3. Well fellas I got the setup all buttoned up and finished last night. I did an initial smoke test and everything past. To play it save I turned the gain down a whisker and adjusted the power output from "Full Tilt" to 75%. I popped in my flavor of the month song "World Wide Chopper" by the ever lovable Techn9ne and gave it a whirl. I set the volume on my Alpine at 20 and gave it a listen. I've never been a fan of the intro of this song. The first couple bass hits and the explosion there after sound like crap. It sounded like crap with the DD, and they sound like crap with the JBLs. :\ Following the explosion, there is about 1 minute and 20 seconds worth of higher bass tones, 40-50hz stuff I'd say, but never measured. The tones in the song are in little burst. The JBLs rang them out with authority. Feel it in the back of your head stuff. Output wise they are on par with the DDs. The JBLs really sounded good. There is a slight pause with the bass in the song. Then comes the good stuff, a plethora of lowwww bass tones. I'm guessing stuff in the low 20hz up to mid 30hz. The DDz would shake everything, like grab you by the shoulders and give you a good shaking even at this low level. The JBLs came short of this, I mean you could feel it in the eardrums but not in the seat backs. They got after it, but not in the violent ways that the DDs do. No meter scores to report just yet, but they will be down for sure. I'm gonna jam to some Spoon on the way home and see how they do. That's more of what I listen to on a day to day basis. :)

  4. them gti subs have a great look to them and i was always a fan of them but wouldnt it be a tab to much power for them? looks great in the box with that monster amp

Too much power??!!!! You know what forum you're on? :P

With that much overhead there won't be a chance on getting any distortion to play through those subs, way to much power is a good thing if you know what to do with it. Should sound awesome even if the box isn't quite right for those subs.

There's definitely more than enough power on tap to get the most out of these subs. I be easing the power up on these little guys till I sense there's no more to be had. As for the box, the more I think about it the more I feel these subs will perform better than the DD. This isn't a burp box so we might even see a little gain on the meter. Wouldn't that be something. :trippy:

  5. Lol. Thanks fellas. Since I'll possibly be losing a little bit of out put I figure I'd go full tilt on the WOW factor and go the invert sub mount. Here are some real pics of what the finished product will look like. :)

    WOW!

Here is an over the shoulder look towards the rear.

Third row seats are hiding all the bling. :( Lets try that shot again with the third row seat folded down.
