you should always tune with the decks bass output ( sub level control not bass tone control!!) maxed out... that is where the decks rca voltage comes in... 15 is 4 volts everything below that is less voltage..
Is this correct^^^I hate to send clip signal to my amp/subs? I have a alpine imprint and alpine dealer put my sublvl 15+ on my alpine cda 105.
well im guessing he did that so that if you or your friend turned the sub level all the way up then it wouldnt clip.
it is better to have the sub level down and the gain on your amp turned up more...
but if your friend messes with it and turns the sub level up then your system is fucked lol
Well my gain half and boast 0 and subsonic30hz and LPf 75hz
well you need an oscope like he said to really test it if you dont know what clipping sounds like.
but always keep the bass boost on the amp at 0 lol. bass boost will really make it clip

take the battery out and see if it still bumps with the 2
if so, then just use 2.. lol

all depends on the tuning and what woofers you use and the box size. you cant correlate ported boxes with lower notes etc. sure you can do that but some people tune super fucking high (burp boxes) so they cant play anything under like 50hz.
the dc audio level 2 8 needs a box that is .8cuft ported and .5cuft sealed...its not too small unless the manufacturer tells you you can run a woofer in a small amount of space.
=O haha
ive never seen a decent sub that requires less then 1 cube.
my bad =D

wood glue is the best thing for gluing wood. ill explain how the bonding process works, relative to mdf.
first, here is the thing i have never seen anyone do correctly. mdf has a layer of sealer on it. for best result, you have sand through the layer of sealer to get to the actual wood, to get the best bond possible. wood glue is thinner than liquid nail. i mix my glue with a lil bit of water to make it even thinner, because if the glue is thin it will soak into the material for a very strong bond. with liquid nail, it is so thick that it doesnt soak into the wood, and all you get is a surface bond, with is the structural equivalent to having a battery with a dead cell. sure it shows voltage, but put some load on it and you aint got shit.
damn i got shut down. haha
-
i have used thousands of tubes of it when i built houses.
oh, so your proving my point?
liquid nail held a house together?
lol
-
...you say this why?
are ported boxes not made for lower notes and deeper bass?
(with the right air space)
-
how can it be the same as silicone and glue, when silicone and glue are not the same? also, you seem to have absolutely no understanding of how glue actually works.
LOL
you obviously never used liquid nail in your life
-
explain
lol meant to say
liquid nail is killing two birds with one stone
liquid nail is the same as silicone and glue
-
.65 cubes?! lol.. usually ported boxes need more cubes
you might be better off sealed

AudioWrap, Twistedchild tested it out and can't find a difference between it and Damplifier.
they werent even good tests

i hope my new set up will do close to 150 db's but i want the low tuned box for 4 12" inverted subs in a jeep cherokee. ya thing that could be achieved with 2 pa bb 2400's or 2 ap3000's?
its possible. for a tiny hair trick..
but you need a sub with bigger cone area.
like (15"+)x 4 probably.
expecially in a SUV

I just went and bought the sub and amp got a cadence pack 600watt mono amp and sub in box for $230, Now the guy said the amp has a fuse so I wouldnt need one to be installed. Also my battery is in the boot of my car. Now i'm having second thoughts installing this myself.Thinking i should get a fuse still and also ground cable and the remote wire to turn the amp off with the car has got me confused what to do.
What the guy at the shop said to do is connect the amp( This new mono amp has inputs and outputs), So i connect the mono amp and head units pre outs to the mono, Then output the mono amps signal to the input of the old 4x200 amp.
Just confused on installing it myself, I forgot about ground cable and remote wire. Also dont know if i should go get a fuse or not.
lol.

^^this and even tho mine has a sub level control its pretty hard to get to when driving down the road.
Now there is really not a problem with the "bass knob" if used correctly. When setting your gains make sure the knob is up.
I have used mine for about 5 months and not 1 problem.
lol your little video clip/pic, is funny haha
-
Steve Meade uses a bass knob so if you have a powerful system it is necessary..When you need to make instant changes.
lol im tired of people comparing stuff to steve meade

1600. I wish I only had that much tied up in my truck.
lmao. looks like you got atleast $1500 in your rims/tires
-
it also depends on the head-unit.. a lot of head-unit's do NOT have "sub" levels or adjustments. (in this case the highs would produce bass too.)

Longer port is lower tuning.
Remember the longer you make your port the smaller your box will get
ok well help me with my new post please
also in my other post please tell me what setting to put my DMM on plase

pics of said GREAT looking box???
If your amp can handle a 1 ohm load and your cars electrical is strong enough them you shouldn't have any problem wiring them to 1 ohm
lol i didnt say it was GREAT, its my first box ever

ugh youd have to use a box tunner which you can find on the site here just look it up and if im correct you have to make it shorter
the calc i use says i need to make it longer
i go to the12volt.com
"Calculators, Charts, Diagrams"
scroll down, click "Volume Calculator - Rectangular/Square Enclosures"
scroll up, its right above the box volume calc for the spuare enclosures
my port is 1.5"wide x 17.5"tall x 9"long
and i have 1.8 cubes
-
how many are there?
edit you will need four of them if you were to try its like haveing two subs that are dual 4 if you connect two Voice coils you get 2 ohm then once you connect the other two you get a 2 ohm load then connect the two subs for a 1 ohm load
yes i have 4,
and i have a question about my box. its tuned to 46hz (not on prupose lol, just made a box that looks good)
anyways, would i make my port longer to get it tuned lower? or would i shorten it?
-
single 4 ohm subs to 1 ohm
i know how, just wondering if it would cause problems
yes or no?
-
i agree, even if your boss amp is pushing 10k watts its the ugliest power you can imagine. Id change amps and be done. If that doesnt help, build a box also.....
make a box first then upgrade the amp if it doesnt make a difference.
if you are trying to save money if not.. fuck it.
by better amps and a better box, get damplifier.

well oscopes get expensive. you might be able to rent one from a autozone or something.
your local parts store.
if you turn your sub level down to the lowest before your subs shut off. you should be able to turn your gain up to somewhere around 3/4.
i would deffinitly get an oscope and read how to use one and test your stuff.
im only 17 and only have a few years of experience so i wouldnt rely on me haha.
