  1. Clamp is the coolest feature of all. Meter is more or less the same as the older TL. Best part is no more fucking "Instacal". Just plug and play. Personally, like the fact I can open the software without having to connect the box to it. That is nice for finding archived numbers of course that is in on the promoter package side.

  2. Doing the Basshead meet this year tied me up from partying as I normally wandering around drunk in the parking lot. However, I am down to do it again next year. Which is fine considering I had my wife and kids with me. Really bummed not to kick with you Steve Thanks for the raffle, man didn't know you were coming through like that. We definitely need to kick it bro, its been a minute.

  3. Fuck talk about showing up late to the party. There must be some kind of build bug go around. We been talking about building something. Seeing you building an SPL monster just because is awesome bro. It is how we all started. Set a personal goal and went for it. Never quiete started balls out like you have but, hey this ain't your first big build either. I probably won't be back to see the progree along the way as I am just don't keep up enough on SMD but, I look forward to seeing this beast next time in Sac.

  4. Good luck with this......

Looked at doing the same thing with the nexus and using its navigations and music capablilitis and tethering my phone to use pandora/iheart. It definately the way to go. However, to do it properly you will still need a way to control the basic stereo functiions as volume and fade. There has been on recently done by sonic electronix that used a bit one (by audison) to control all the functions.

personally I was looking at the arc audio PS8 thats coming out to do something simalair.

  5. all is relevant.

however, trouble shoot everything to do with wiring first. may have one voice coil out of phase. I know a pair of my dc's one voice coil was out of phase always even though on the connection was red and black it was always losing volume. it was bitch to say the least every rebuild.

  6. LOL at this thread.

No offense to the OP at all, I just remember those subs. They sounded impressive but, number wise they tanked. They took all kinds of power too, just not sure what it did with it as they didn't blow or get louder. LOL

I'd consider these to mid to entry level subs, for the money there are others out there.

Hell if you are seriously thikning of trying them out hit up Earthquake directly and see if they have any "B" stock laying around, I'm sure they do.

  7. 8's are great for mid-bass only draw back is the energy the give off.

6.5's can give you just as good if not better mid-bass if applied correctly

6.5s are also hardly ever used in a true 3-way set up as a dedicated midrange normally something like a 4" or 3" would be better for that application.

Buying a front stage componet out of the box would be the best way of going. Start off with the high end names like Morel,Hertz and go from there. The new Black Series from Arc has gotten some great reviews as well.

You could part your components from various places such as ebay or CL. parts express pro audio line has worked well for some.

You'll come to find out that majoirty of the front stage is not always going to be on product type but, installation and tuning.

Don't waste your money on a componenet for the rear stage.
