  1. Hmmm, interesting idea, the theft protecting speaker that kills or maims any who try to steal it and don't know what they're doing... I like it.
  2. It will add more displacement, lowering your net volume, increase your tuning, and rape your port values Edit: I am going through some of the same stuff but with 2 12's right now too, it's annoying as hell because I want to build my own also, not have some shop do it for me.
  3. LOL, at this rate I might have to. We'll see later tonight when I get some new measurements.
  4. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to do some re-measuring when I get home from work. I think I measured on the small side so that I can get it in and out. After the port, the front plate would be 24.5x14.5 and if I put the two subs side by side, they would sit 25.52" wide. Might have to change the design as to where the subs or port sit too... This is going into the trunk of a '98 Malibu and I just want the loudest design. How well would subs forward port backward/side/up do? With this size I am getting sorta worried about being able to even slide it in/out, lol. I would build it into the trunk, but I may not have this car a year from now and these subs will not be going with it.
  5. Wouldn't the port be 14.5" tall due to the .75" MDF? And wouldn't 4.75" wide be too much since I gotta fit 2 12's into the remaining space of the front plate with overall diameter of 12.76" each? Would I also need that much volume for these?
  6. I have 2 T3 T.1000 12's being reconed this week and need a box for them. I have been working a bit on designing one and need some of the more seasoned members here to take a look and give me some advice. I would like both port and subs forward. Max Width: 30" Max Height: 16.5" Max Depth: 32" Here are the specs from T3: Here is the box I've done up using Torres box Calc: And here is those values put into the RE Calc just for a visual display and cutsheet list: Thanks for looking and please leave some feedback. I really want to build this one myself and if anyone can draft one up that would work a lot better than what I have so far let me know, I'm completely open to suggestions. I am mainly trying to stay within the max dimensions listed above and trying to tune around 33Hz using a slot port, but I may try out a PVC port.
  7. Read THIS and email JD about a 15" T.1000. Prolly run you less than $200 for a reconed sub.
  8. I'm from G.R. and so is dkindle613. lem43606 from St. Joe. I'm currently running 2 12's at 800Wrms, dkindle is running 2 15's, and lem was running 2 18's walled off in a late 90's malibu IIRC. dkindle was running in the 140 area and lem just hit the 152 mark.
  9. SUPER SHITTY!!!! That sucks man, hope everything turns around for you.
  10. These are both from AudioSavings: ~$140 Pioneer ~$150 Rockford Rockford is brand new in the box with free shipping and a 1 year warranty Pioneer is certified B-stock with free shipping and a 1 year warranty $130 Planet Audio B-stock I know they're at the peak of your price range, but my experience has been to just spend the little extra and be happy rather than save $30-40 now and have to spend $125 later down the road to fix/replace whatever piece I got before. AudioSavings is a great site that has made many contributions to this site and they are definitely worth taking a look at. Plus they usually have badass daily deals. Hope this helps.
  11. Definitely loading WAY faster. Seems like the last couple of days it's been struggling to open pages and I wondered if there was a problem. I know my internet is pretty decent, so I wondered if the server was just overheating and bugging out.
  12. Vids coming soon... EDIT: Ok, here's the first one. I got the frequencies messed up when I was explaining on both videos, lol. 2nd one coming when upload is finished. EDIT: Here you go for the 2nd one. Got the frequencies messed up on this one too, lol, my bad.
  13. I forsee a good battle in the near future..... lol. I'll be watching for it.
  14. yes. I thought my speakers were blowing one time because I had the wrong setting. EDIT: Damn you BlitZ, Ninja'd me again! lol
  15. ^this. If your used the Aux, it could be the EQ setting you chose on the iPod and/or if you had it at Max volume instead of about 8O% volume, Which I noticed to distort the sound. EDIT:Wow, i got super ninja'd, guess I better start typing faster.
  16. AudioSavings.com This is one for brand new. A bit out of your price range probably, but not many are going to sell for much cheaper.
  17. Agreed. At least with a train it's once and done, but welfare is a constant leech that won't go away. Bridge Card abuse is TERRIBLE up here in Michigan. I actually witnessed a drunk buy about 40 12 packs of pop on his card, walk out to the parking lot where drained all the cans and tossed them back in the cart, and then walk right back in to return the cans. Wasted over $150 in pop so he could score a case or two of beer. And who knows if the bastard had kids he was supposed to feed off that card? Plus, I doubt many of the people that do get hit by a train because they drove in front of it are going to be winning very many legal battles... it's not like a train can jump out of a bush and side-swipe a driver. I mean, who's ever heard of a train making an illegal left turn? Oh wait... That's right, IT'S ON RAILS. What kind of a low life idiot would even make that law firm. Do they really expect to win that often? They must hate getting paid for doing work. You watch though, in 4 months there will be some huge court case where some dumb trash-ass person will be walking around with their kid in a stroller and "accidentally" push their kid in front of it and then all railroad crossings will have to have 15' fences for 300' in either direction of a crossing with sliding gates to block people and cars. And that person will win at least $100 million settlement. How can someone as crooked as this law firm not get banned from entering a court room unless they are the defendant or plaintiff. Sorry for my long addition to your rant.
  18. Sounds like you got yourself a keyboard gansta trying to get something for nothing. Just brush him off like like a bad case of dandruff and move on . Also looks like he hasn't been active on the forum for about 4 months too.
  19. lol, If i got any more creative, I'd end up building the box into the trunk and there would be no way to get it out. I plan on having this car no longer than a year and I'm at the point that everything I put in, I want to be able to take out.
  20. So I did some re-calculating and I don't think I will be able to swing it in my car. Not enough room for the tuning I want unfortunately.
  21. DAYUM! One of these days I'll have to make a road trip of the hour and a half drive down there and get a demo. That's nuts though, congrats .
