  1. Can you blend with a car audio amplifier? Also, what happens when you play music? Let's find out... Blending to da Beat
  2. Those who were in car audio in the late 90's probably remember this one. Soundstream had the popular Reference Class A amps (5.0, 10.0, Picasso, etc), but these USA amps were really. unique. Here's a July 4th special for you guys... Check out the video:
  3. In 2002 MA Audio introduced their flagship amp, the COM 1. This is a six channel amp which includes dual 30 band EQ's and is one of the biggest amps most people have never seen. Let's unbox this monstrosity and see what it's all about...
  4. Dat 8/0 is skraight up water hose!! Jealous of the power supply, but I gots to build up my baller status before I can afford that power bill. Enjoy
  5. I think I remember an article where Garry said he upgraded to the 20 or 25kW version and it was like $40,000? Insane! Don't quote me on that price, I can't recall for sure. This power supply is sweet, will turn that power meter like Clark W Griswold's 20,000 imported lights though ?
  6. Dat's one ugly dude!! First up in our 3-part series of Korean 3000-3500 watt amps are the Crescendo BC3500D and DC Audio 3.5k. We compare these amps for a specific reason and you'll see what I'm referring to in the video. I decided to split up the 5 amps into 3 different test videos. The Crescendo and DC are together in one test, secondly, I'll show the Skar SKv2-3500 and last, but not least, the Orion HCCA vs Sundown SCV. As you can see, this video alone is 20 minutes, one of my longest videos to date. I wanted to take time explaining the amplifiers more, thus the longer video.
  7. Sony made a BIG statement with the XM-2000R back in 1999. This amp was listed in Car Audio & Electronics for $4000! Let's take a closer look at the amp, some amazing installs using these amps and then test it on the Amp Dyno. Watch on YouTube in 4K UHD resolution or embedded below:
  8. Here we have John Enzweilier"s 1993 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab pickup with the 90's Rockford Fosgate equipment. John's truck has the following gear: Pioneer DEX-P8000R Head Unit (5) Rockford Fosgate Punch 200x2 Amplifiers (1) Rockford Fosgate Punch 400x4 Amplifier (8) Rockford Fosgate Punch DVC Special Edition 12" subs ESB Audio 8000 6.5" component speakers 3.5" JL Audio Coaxials 6.5" JL Audio Coaxials Stinger OFC Wiring / Distribution Note: this is not an SPL setup, just a fun old school install. Don't get too caught up on the numbers... See OSS Meets Playlist: https://is.gd/ossmeets Watch video on YouTube in 4K UHD or embedded below:
  9. See Shawn K's latest work of art in his wife's 2012 Acura TL. In this system, he integrated a low-powered, very high quality sound system into the factory head unit. With only 200 rated watts total and 50A of fusing, this is an impressive setup to rival some high end SQ cars. Watch as we show some impressive build pics as well as the final product! 10. Yo bro, eBay will bring the most $$, but dealing with the non-paying bidders and fees is a pain. There are Facebook groups for selling, even one specific to RF DSM amps. Also a Rockford Fosgate classifieds page on FB.
  11. Soundstream Rubicon amplifiers have been around since the 1990's and when I came across this 2015 "Limited Edition" version of the RUB2500.1D, I just knew it would make for an interesting video. This amp is rated to deliver 2500 watts at 1 ohm and the current price is under $250, so this would equate to 10 cents a watt....and that's amazing power for the money....if it's rated correctly?? Only one way to find out! The RUB2500.1D is rated to deliver: 1000 watts at 4 ohms 1700 watts at 2 ohms 2500 watts at 1 ohm *note: no specifics as to how the ratings were obtained (at 1%, at clipping, dynamic or "Max") Full disclosure: Amplifier was purchased by me for the purpose of this test. All of the opinions in this video are my own and the content wasn't reviewed by anyone prior to posting. Watch on YouTube in 4k HD video or embedded below:
  12. Dr. Crakenstein offered up two mini amps back in the day, the M-80 and M-200CX. These amps look really cool with the terminal strips and clear acrylic panels on the bottom to show off....well, the guts. How impressive are they? Gotta stick around and find out! 13. The dual 18ga power/ground connections scare me. I bet it would run much better if modded to accept 10ga like the Rockford PBR or Soundigital SD400.1D
  14. Thanks bud. If you notice, it actually says "700 watts" on the amp and box and doesn't mention MAX unless you look in the manual. Typical of (most) inexpensive car audio amplifier companies fudging the numbers to mislead the customers ?
  15. U probably right, but I bet it will play all day at 2 ohms and would be perfect for the motorcycle/ATV systems or even a cooler or portable stereo setup
  16. Merry Christmas to you as well. I have some time off next week, hopefully get a lot more content on YouTube! I've got like a dozen amps waiting to be tested, gonna be fun :-)
  17. Since I'm able to test with near silence in my lab, I hear the sounds amps make when they stress. It's usually a squealing or crackling sound when an amp is stressed. This one was squealing like a pig at it's limits. It's also cool to hear the 1kHz tone resonating from the amp's I test at that frequency.
  18. The Dual DA301L is another micro sized subwoofer amp we just had to get and test. This one is a powerful contender rated to deliver 150x1 at 4 ohms or 350x1 at 2 ohms. It is also Made in Korea (not China) and has extra features such as a variable subsonic filter and bass boost. These tiny amps are perfect for motorcycles, ATV's, side-by-sides and even cars. The small size makes them really easy to hide and they don't stress your electrical system too much. Let's try out this mini amp on the Dyno and see how it performs! 19. Boston Acoustics is no longer in the car audio aftermarket, but back in it's prime, it was one of the premier manufacturers. The Pro Series speakers and subwoofers were legendary in their time. More recently, they made SQ amplifiers such as the one we show here, the GT-28. Not sure how they came up with the model number, but this amp was rated to deliver 250x2 at 4 ohms, 450x2 at 2 ohms and also bridgeable to mono for 900 watts at 4 ohms or 1350 watts at 2 ohms. Good numbers for a Class A/B amp and at $1000 MSRP in 2004, it was not something everyone could afford. Let's take a closer look at the amplifier and try it out on the Amp Dyno! See other results on Amp-Performance.de's website (Sorry for the audio, the background noise is my large power supply which I no longer use. It sounds like a band saw!) 20. Thanks bro. I never know what Amp Test will do well for YouTube. Many times I think the big amps are what people want to see, yet the Kicker "200 watt" tiny amp I tested a few weeks ago has over 200k views already. Sickness! I thought it might get 10k if I was lucky. I enjoy all of the amp tests I do and never assume any video will do any better than the others.
