  1. Would it sound louder to have my sub face the cabin now that I've put on dampener for my trunk? I drive a Camry, and I've got an SP4 15.
  2. Looks like I've figured it out. a rubber sleeve from my alternator wire got caught in between the terminals, and started smoking up.
  3. I measured it. On music, it rises to 200A. Seems like my ECM only kicks in and delivers the extra amperage when constant bass is on. the voltage reads a constant 12.8 in this test. I'll get the vid up. I also discovered another issue. Seems like a wire somewhere on the positive smokes up when I play it full tilt.
  4. Not under a load. When I have the clamp on and the engine is on, it really reads 15 amps! I'll put a vid up to prove it
  5. I'll just go and buy a multimeter. Better now than never I guess. I'll report in a bit
  6. One that can read 300a of current is more. It's probably reading from the lead to the head unit. The red wire is on a wire that turns on when car is on, and the wire that measures is on the yellow fused wire. The voltage is constant 11.5-11.8 on constant bass.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Where do you have your volt meter reading at? The amps? I'm reading this from my VM-1. Could you post a video of your voltage drop? Does it go that low and stay low or dip for a split second then come up to 13v+?
  8. Aurora Colorado. I'd buy one from radioshack, but I'm trying to save up.

  11. Yes. 3 0 gauge wires. However, my engine to chassis wire may not be true 0 gauge, closer to 4. Is this the major issue? My charging voltage is surprisingly low, about 13.4V warm, 14 cold, but I believe that is ECM controlled. I would like to test my alt's output, but I don't have a clamp meter. Anyone know where to possibly rent one?
