  1. Based on Kicker specification (checked to be as you list above) here is a design suggestion, the size of the port parts are included: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 39,807 Hz Vb = 2,5 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Front Mounted External Height = 14,75 in External Width = 27,37 in External Depth = 16 in Port Width = 2 1/2 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front & Back = 27 3/8 x 14 3/4 Left & Right Sides = 14 1/2 x 13 1/4 Top & Bottom = 27 3/8 x 14 1/2 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 12 x 13 1/4 Extension = 1/2 x 13 1/4
  2. Use MDF screws. You may like this: http://www.norbord.com/images/screws-MDF.pdf
  3. Yes, if you can afford 0.75 in mor in depth I could modify the design to give you a double baffle which is a very good way to avoid resonance, if not you can consider some front to back crossbracing.
  4. Ok ports should not be together check this out:
  5. I fixed the assembly diagram, unless you have more space this configuration is the most space efficient for a ported enclosure (except if you wanted to go with aero ports). Dual ports or dual chamber and port will take up more space. A band pass will be louder but it will need to be much bigger than that. The main difference vs. the one suggested by the manufacturer is that it tunes lower giving better bottom end.
  6. Ok Here is a design suggestion, a bit more net volume and tuned lower will help reach the lower notes better: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 32,186 Hz Vb = 2,821 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Front Mounted External Height = 14 in External Width = 34,5 in External Depth = 17 in Port Width = 3 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front = 30 3/4 x 12 1/2 Back = 34 1/2 x 12 1/2 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 16 1/4 x 12 1/2 Side 2 = 15 1/2 x 12 1/2 Top & Bottom = 34 1/2 x 17 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 Extension = 11 x 12 1/2 Asssembly guide:
  7. If you are doubling the airspace you need to put a second port that is *identical* to the one previously used, if you want a single port you have double the area and recalculate the port length to the tuning of the previous one. Also the last time I checked the RE calculator had obvious flaws, work with the Torres claculator wich is free and is more accurate.
  8. Audioque has different series of subs what is the exact model of the subs.
  9. Well, if you are right then 40/2.5 = 16, the maximum for slots, 13 is the maximum for aeros so 2.5 x 13 = 32.5. If you are willing to compromise a single 6 aero will do for one sub so two ports for 2 subs would be minimum. which leads to 45.9 in long each to get to 34Hz! A slot port based design would be better for this design. if you have the space.
  10. A 6 aero is 28,274 sq.in. in the spec above says 40. And they are aiming at about 40Hz tuning with their port specs. If you double the volume you need to double the PA as well. So really short on port area.
  11. You are tuned lower than your spec, actually is: Vb = 4.777 cu.ft Fb = 33.406117 Hz Change the width of your port to 23 in. Vb = 4.943 cu.ft Fb = 30.8059807 Hz If I go lower will compromise you port area, I am assuming a single 15" sub displacement. With dual 12" will be around 31Hz, if you want a better estimate state what subs you are using.
  12. Here are the specs: SPECIFICATIONS Series 3500e Voice Coil Diameter 3" Magnet Weight 240 oz Power Handling RMS/Peak 1200/4800 Suspension Travel 80 mm Nominal Impedance D1.5 Ohm DC Resistance D 1.5 Model 3512e Rec Box (cubic ft) 2.5 Port Area (sq in) 40 Port Length (inches) 22 Woofer Diameter 12" Free Air Resonance 32 Hz Qts 0.36 Qes 0.39 Qms 4.81 Vas 40L Sensitivity 89 dB Shipping Weight 35 lbs If you need halp with the design let me know you maximum dims or use the Torres.
  13. Well, depending on the subs, the following subs can work well on 1.5 cuft each http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16665_Pioneer-TS-W3002D4.html Handle 1KW each. Do I like this? NO, but most subs on 1.5 cuft will not work well (Ported) for daily use. So with those you can setup a box on your dims that would tune to 33Hz with Vb= 6cuft. Dual 15"s can also be setup on that space.
  14. I can change keep changing dims, Hope you can fit a big enough right angled box as those are the easiest to build.
  15. Right, not using his full depth though. So taking away some more depth hopefully it will fit: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 30 Hz Vb = 7 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted External Height = 20 in External Width = 32,67 in External Depth = 30 in Port Width = 5 1/4 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 32 11/16 x 20 Left & Right Sides = 27 3/4 x 18 1/2 Top & Bottom = 32 11/16 x 27 3/4 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 22 1/2 x 18 1/2 Extension = 3/4 x 18 1/2
  16. Take a look at these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_kw=93-02&_kw=Camaro&_kw=enclosure
  17. Here is a design suggestion: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 30 Hz Vb = 8 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted External Height = 20 in External Width = 27,54 in External Depth = 38 in Port Width = 5 1/2 in Cut List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: 2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 27 9/16 x 20 Left & Right Sides = 35 3/4 x 18 1/2 Top & Bottom = 27 9/16 x 35 3/4 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 25 1/2 x 18 1/2 A fair amount of bracing should be added though.
  18. If you want to do a cheap fast test retune your present box to the 36Hz and set the subsonic filters to 30Hz since your Vb is high, could be just enough.
  19. SSA Xcons are a better choice for deep lows.
  20. It all depends on what you can fit you need an internal net volume (Vb) around 3 cubic feet for those subs, so here is a design suggestion for those settings I have added a double baffle (top face) on those dims: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34 Hz Vb = 3 ft^3 Subwoofer Mounting = Flush Mounted External Height = 13 in External Width = 26 1/4 in External Depth = 25 in Port Quantity and Dimensions: Number of Ports = 2 Aero Port Diameter = 4 Aero Port Length = 16,591 in, 16 9/16 in Vertical crossbracing is recommended as well. You can play around those dims with the Torres so see what you come up with. In this suggestion the ports go fully inside the box.
  21. Port area is too low. dual 4.5" aero ports with length of 18.8 in would give acceptable results, the box would spec as follows: Fb = 32,341 Hz Vb = 3,707 ft^3 Also I would do a dual layer baffle and some vertical crossbracing
