  1. Yeah, youtube is a horrible place to see if a sub sounds good, you have to hear them yourself.
  2. If you like the subs you just mentioned, and you have the trunk space to fit them, go for it, just make sure you get a good amp for them.
  3. Holy crap, it took all day to install my 1st on my car, thank god I have good friends, especially one who knows about car mechanics :D

  4. Yeah, we know you want help, but this rule was set to avoid arguments, and biased replies from fanboys.
  5. Is it me or does the Saturn logo look like the Kicker Symbol?

  7. Wow, this is almost as bad as my uncle's setup he did to my grandpa's car cause he uses the car too.

  9. Yeah, they offer you nothing when you want to sell, and charge prices you wouldn't even want to pay for new.
  10. I got a Kicker CVR12 like new for $60 from Value Pawn, but that's about it, only other thing of interest they were selling were 2 JL W6 12's in a box for $700, but that was $700(that's a lot for me), and 2 DB 15's with ported box with amp for $279. Everything else was either crap, or mainstream stuff that was overpriced cause its a famous brand, like Alpine.
  11. Can't wait to get my amp soon :D

  12. Sweet amp bro , I just ordered the MB Quart FX1.600 myself(not good as yours of course lol) for my 1 Kicker CVR12, because I'm very optimistic about MB Quart myself, read good things about them .
  13. I believe that looks like a Ferrari Testarossa, and if it is, it must have been one epic Ferrari to drive around in back in 95
  14. Well, if one of them is damaged, then you're better off saving for new ones then.
  15. If I were you, I would keep the subs, but build a better enclosure for them to sound better( and maybe even louder too), and buy some new door speakers, whether coaxials or components so your mids and highs at least sound better, and maybe a new amp for the subs too since the amp that came with them is only feeding half their rms. Since you say you're on a budget, go look around at craigslist or maybe even pawn shop cause you'll be surprised, I once got a 12' Kicker 07CVR like new for $60 at a pawn shop.
  16. Corsair cause I've had mine for 4 years and it still runs great.
  17. Yeah, saving for a couple of years will do you wonders, and there's always new stuff coming out. If you're wanting to spend money for a sub at home though, I recommend looking at Parts Express for a crate amp, and designing/building a box yourself or you can buy a box, and screw it on with extra wood as a frame for it, but get a 1.5 cu ft ported box for that particular RE sub. A crate amp is safer to use because it has it's own internal power source, it's built to have a clean signal, and you can simply just plug it in the wall. Plus you don't need alot of power for home use, if you feed that RE sub it's recommended power, your neighbors will hate you lol. Oh yeah, another advice, never buy from Best Buy, they overprice alot of things, or sell you shit for the same price of something good you can get somewhere else.
  18. Well, when it comes to headphones, you have to take a listen to them yourself because everyone hears differently, and some may say that they sound amazing, and others may say they sounds bad. Like I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones, and my friend took a listen to them and ordered a pair paying full msrp, while another friend said they had no bass, and wasn't loud enough. It's all up to your ears, and also whether they are comfortable to you too.
  19. My friend has a pair of Vintage speakers, the Genesis Model 210 from 1981, and they have an 8' woofer, and a 10' passive radiator, and they sound really good bass-wise. The PR does really help with extending the bass notes, and it looks cool when the speakers flex cause the woofer moves one way, while the PR moves the opposite way. It would be interesting to see a system build involving Passive Radiators
  20. I was driving one day, and this song came up on my ipod, and I was surprised by the bass this song has, not very heavy, but extremely relaxing, though I have no clue what instrument was used to make the bassline, I'm thinking bass guitar (I'm really bad identifying instruments). Yes I know this is a video game song, but Nobuo Uematsu makes some really beautiful music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-DX0cqroSc
  21. Well, it's cause I found a 0/1 gauge wire amplifier kit for $38, made by Prime, so it may not be real 0 gauge but it's a good start. I do wanna upgrade in the future actually, but I wanna start out with the sub 1st, then see what else happens next.
