Check with Audacity to see if the tones go past -5 db.
Also see if something is wrong with the headunit itself as well.

My bad..., thought it was a 12'
Anyways, a proper ported box will sound better than a sealed box when built and tuned correctly.
-
Tune low, Kicker usually tunes too high, and 6 cu ft is big waste of space for 1 12'
-
If it's for sound quality, I promise you, low tuned ported box will sound better.
If it's for saving space, 12 cubes doesn't sound like it
-
I'd do 6cu ft total, and tune to 32hz. You'll be able to fit it, and get the lows you seek.
-
No need for the terminal cup in my opinion, just simply get some brass bolts, washers, and wings nuts from Lowes, and some trim rings for the speaker wire, drill the hole on the box, stick the bolt through the internal speaker wire ring, out of the box, and place the external speaker wire on the other end, and secure it with the wing nut. Much easier to install in my opinion, and a lot more secure, and easier on wiring.
Here's an example of mine

EQing is for correction of frequencies for rooms or different car environment, so when you have certain peaks or drips due to the shape of the car, correctly done, an eq can correct that for flatter response, which is what you're looking for.
The best eq I've seen so far is the Audison Bit-One(not cheap), where it has a mic and you play pink noise(20-20000hz flat noise), and eq through a computer to get the flatest frequency response possible .

i have one in my wifes car its ok but dont expect alot of power out of itit probly does closer to 500-600 watts
I expect nothing out of this thread, than that one of the US members can get a in the Forum well known 1500 Watt amp for 140 $.
It´s to damn expensive to pay the shippingcost to Germany, if you can read my Avatar, + the 19 % tax on the amp + shipping.
That's gotta suck

Cheap for a reason, but at least it's better than Audiopipe.
-
Careful with that, don't drink it too fast.
Think you have to order it from Brazil

Cachaça man, strong as russian vodka, drinks like water

Damn, that thing looks like a wind tunnel. Good job to you and Don on the build.
-
If that's the only problem with it while the voice coil works, then I don't see why not.

Either PSI recone or this if you don't mind having a D4

There's no 2012 model yet, there's 2010 brand new, and it has free shipping, it from an authorized store

According to Twisted, he thinks it does 160 db, so I assumed it does, either way, it's loud as shit.
-
Wait till you get that 160 cherry popped. Night and day difference. But welcome to the world of never being loud enough. Lol
160 is crazy, I couldn't breath or see straight
This came from the Team HZ Addiction "Ark of the Funky Pup" 50,000 watt astro van.
Had 12 15' BTL N3's in a clamshell wall on 6 Crescendo BC5500's on 18 volts, and a shit ton of XS power batteries.

You can fit a proper box inside for the 15's, but if it were me, I'd just stick with 12's, where are you gonna store your amps, and possible batteries.

Yeap, that means you're clipping when you go very high on your headunit, so that could be the problem. Now if you used the 0db test tone on the dd-1 disk, then you'd be reaching your maximum clean output.
