  1. ops lol just realized that when stupid people spell "oops" wrong haha...just kidding man
  2. I would really appreciate any help on a box design....I really want to build this box. I've tried using the box calculator and haven't been able to figure out something I can use. I'm mainly stuck on the port size/area.
  3. Needing some help on a box design.. First, my trunk is pretty small and oddly shaped. The room I'm looking at is 37 wide, 32 deep(can go deeper...), and 15 high. You might be thinking, woah, 15 isn't very tall at all....and you're right. But my trunk is pretty shallow, and I'm thinking if I keep the box short I can have the subs on top. Am I on the right track with this? I believe I'm looking for 8 cubes after sub displacement? And how big/what kind of port should I consider? (34hz?) I'm also thinking about doing some sort of wall, with my trunk being small/oddshaped(edit: my trunk is 16 ft³ total)....I appreciate any advice I have the box calculator downloaded, but would really like some help on the dimensions with the port.
  4. Very interesting, because the AQ2200d is one of the amps im looking at. How big of an XS battery would I need up front?(Bigger than the D1200?) It would be nice keeping my D680 in back working with it. I say just get the biggest you can fit. That way you don't have to swap it out again later whilst getting the most you can out of it now. You can never have too good of electrical The XS D3400 looks like a solid choice then. Thanks again guys. Now that I know what I need to do with my electrical system...to more system planning(amp/new box)!
  5. I appreciate all the help/input guys. Thanks. Very interesting, because the AQ2200d is one of the amps im looking at. How big of an XS battery would I need up front?(Bigger than the D1200?) It would be nice keeping my D680 in back working with it.
  6. Thanks for your reply. I will definitely upgrade to 0awg and bigger XS batteries. I have a decent understanding of power but where I'm lacking is matching my alternator with the amperage my car needs. My alternator isn't stock(my stock was alot lower output)..but it's not one of the premium 250-320 output ones...Is there a chart/topic somewhere about matching your system amperage?
  7. I'm wanting to upgrade soon and right now I have a 170 amp alternator with a wet cell up front and a d680 in back.(1000RMS, 4 gauge, big3...hifonics1500d) I'm wanting to double my power(2000 RMS)..Would I be needing to get a new alternator or maybe just a nice AGM(or 2?) up front to replace the wet cell?
  8. its all good i figured it would come down to more brand association. im deciding between the kicker comp 8's infinity reference 8's or the fosgate p1 8's (i would get the p2s but the d2 are $80 Cool man, good luck. I don't think you'll go wrong with any of those.
  9. I've heard the P1 and P2s and they sound good. Not for sure if I've heard those others you listed. It's all about personal preference on the brands...I was just trying to help by showing you something in the price range you stated.
  10. The P2 8's are 80 a piece.... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36282_Rockford-Fosgate-P2D2-8-P2D28.html
  11. You're still looking for a problem? you think so? Even on 1000 watts you need a big 3? I've seen some cars have 1500 rms with no big 3 upgrade and some cars needing big 3 done with 750 rms. It's all about the specific vehicle/situation. Lots of variables....But the big 3 is a must IMO, especially if you're having power issues. Let me say that doing the big 3 is also a safety upgrade too. Figure that a 1000 watt system will draw between 100 and 150 amps, plus the stock electrical and BAM: you have 200+ amps on tiny little wires that weren't designed to go over 100 amps. Hello fire. Couldn't agree with you more....fire in car = bad

  13. Maybe two RF 8s? You could probably do the P1 or P2s
  14. Lol. At least it's not a Pyle amp. I'd like to know what he's asking for that XXX as well....And do a good inspection on it.
  15. Notice he said "for now" on that amp. My opinion: Get the RE XXX and an amp to power it with a solid 2000+ RMS. I'm a huge RE fan though....little biased.
  16. No budget? Were you wanting ported or sealed on the 1.7 cubes? Get an SA 10 1.0 ft^3 @ 35hz
