  1. I know Sundown says .5-.75 My question is if they will perform well in .6-.65? 1.2 total after drivers(both in one chamber) and port area. Space is limited in my hatch, so the smaller the better, i will use them for daily drive, Rock mainly, but also listen to EDM, regueaton and some hip hop. Another question, can i give a port area of 20 or 22? bellow that at 1200 watts i will have port noise according to WinISD. Of course, the program gives the worst case scenario, like if i Am pushing the entire 1200 watts all the time to them which it wont happen Thank you for your inputs in advance.
  2. So I'm looking to put car speakers in my home theater setup, for curiosity and something to do. I'm specifically looking at 6.5 components, audioque/pioneer/focal/jl audio. My question is how big of an enclosure should I make for the midranges? And would ported be worth the effort? I've never done this before so I would like to get this right the first time... Thanks
  3. So just messing around in WinIsd, I saw that a 8w3 has a good response curve that I like when in a 2 cubic foot box and tuned to 28 hz. But, seeing as this is only an 8 inch sub, would it still "work" in a 2 cu ft box? And do what it says it would do? If any one has any experience with the 8w3's and good setups, feel free to share. Thanks
  4. I'm looking to make a ported enclosure for my vmax 15. In the manual it says that the internal volume for both the recommended sealed and ported enclosures are the same, 2 cubic feet. From my experience, I've always seen the recommended ported enclosures to be larger than the sealed. So my question is, has anyone had any experience with these subs and found/know if the 2 cubic feet volume for a ported enclosure would work? Or should I go with one a little larger...
  5. Need help SMD! dont know if i should run specs of 1.25 cubes or make a large box (2+ cubes). I wanna be moving some air and my question is what is too big and what port area per foot is too big?> will i get just as many Dbs off a box to specs? would like to be flexxin some stuff I want to run Aeros and be tuned at 32 hz, Any suggestions? thx
  6. So I am planning on upgrading my system a little bit. Currently I am running a 1300W Sony Xplod subwoofer, a 1200W Pioneer Amp, and a cheap-o Walmart box. I plan on using the same amplifier, but I am going to purchase 2 RE audio SeX 12" subwoofers. I am wondering what kind of box would work well for this set up. And if this is even going to be a decent system. I'm not too worried about SQL but i am looking for more SQL. The only reason that I will be purchasing the SeX's is they are a steal at the price I can get them for. If I get any feedback, I might try and document what I've done, and am going to do to the system. Thanks for the input!
  7. These are the plans for the new box that i'm building for my 2002 Explorer, and yes it will fit. It's for 4 18" Acoustic Audio 18's, so yes this is a budget build. As in under $800 build... but here's the specs for the box: 1" MDF all around Dimensions: 40 x 39 x 22 Port Dimensions: 20 x 37.5 x 3.5 Gross Volume: 16.27 ft^3 Tuning Frequency: 29.41Hz Port Area: 131.25 in^2 there will be a 1/4 sheet of MDF on top of the face sheet for counter sink... This is similar to lil_wallbangers 4 18 box as far as port design. the subs are "Light weights" and only weigh 17 pounds each... but that's all my budget allows. but ill still build the box up to 1 1/2 to 3" or so..
