  4. (This log is dedicated to my wall build, my other log is very cluttered with old builds and some talking) Okay, so I finally decided to go big and put a wall in my 97 Explorer Sport. I knew I didnt have much space to work with and have wanted to try a bandpass for a while now. So here we go... I built the box to slide in the hatch had to gut the explorer too... and finally in the car
  5. So last year I called up Mechman and they didn't have the specs to build an alternator for my 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5. I called recently and they will not be able to do my vehicle due to fitting issues Are there any alternatives out there or any other dealers that make one for my vehicle?
  6. Hi @ all! my name is Dominik, im 22 years old and i live in Austria. The 92' Celica is my first "bigger" build and i want to show you my progress so far. I am doing EVERYTHING myself, except the paintjob of the car itself. Please consider that im not a pro Its the 1.6L 16 Valve 105 HP engine, which is very reliable The story: In 2010 i started rebuilding the whole car: new Polyurethane Racing bushings all around, new braking System from the ST185 Rallye Version, lowering Kit, new wheel bearings all around and TONS of other stuff Additionally, i bought a 270Amp Mechman alternator, i think i was one of the first Austrians (the first?) to have such a great Alternator In summer 2011 i started building the Stereo System. A short overview of the Components: 4 pieces of CZ Audio "DIY" 15 inch Woofers in a 4th order Bandpass currently only 1 SPL Dynamics D9S, waiting for the second one to be delivered :S 5 Batteries: 4 CZ Audio 4000s, 1 Stinger SPV45 as Starter Batt. 4 CZ Audio 6.5" Neodymium MIdBasses in CB Doorboards @ Calcell HF500.2 2 Andrian Audio 25 G² Tweeters @ Audio Art 200.2 (4 PA Tweeters @ MTX Thunder 280......equipment in the Garage, just need some Time to install it ) let me show you some Pix: one of my CB Doorboards: absolutely bulletproof aluminium/wood/Fiberglass sandwich construction the 2 12s belong to a friend of mine my cat in one of my woofers some sound deadener: alltogether about 70 KG of it in the whole car. first baffle hurt my finger badly in 2011 :/ but quitting isnt my style the sideplates two of the CBs fits perfectly my skinny buddy Dario barely fits in there xD a little bit of paint backplate with the maintenance lid woofers in reinforcements my Superman Port, first & oldest Version
  7. Looking for more output at idle from ANY alternator on your 1999-2012 GM truck or SUV ??? Look no further !!! We will soon be stocking OVERDRIVE harmonic ballancers for LS series GM trucks and SUV's with 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines, 1999 through 2012. This replacement ballancer has a larger diameter 8 rib crankshaft pulley on it. This means that your alternator or alternators will be spinning 10% faster at idle, which can mean a 50 to 100 amp increase at idle, depending on which high output alternator(s) you have. If you are running multiple high output units and have a problem with belt slip, we also offer an 8 rib conversion that comes with everything you need to swap to an 8 rib belt, increasing belt traction and idle speed at the same time !! (alternator pulleys sold separately) On top of that, we will also be stocking SCT and Diablosport handheld tuners. These devices upload a high performance tune to your vehicle's engine computer that increases HP, and ALSO allows you to increase your engine idle speed to up to 1,000 rpm. The combination of a tuner, crank pulley, and our 370 amp Elite series unit would result in over 300 amps at idle !!! Watch for demo videos soon!!
  8. --Re-worded-- PLEASE let me know if this is still wrong. not trying to do this wrong. all help is apriciated!! thanks!! ------------------ What alternator should I add to install Alternator install will be on a 2006 Silverado Crew-Cab, Head unit -Kenwood DNX-8120, 4 x JL Audio 8w3's, Focal K2 Power-165 v2 (Front-mids/highs), Focal Polyglass - 165 V2 (Rear - mids/highs), JL Audio Slash 1000 v2 (subs), Alpine 400x4 (mids/highs), BIG 3, Dynomat throughout. I also will be adding a 14 volt batt and the alternator will also be 14volts, I assum ei will need a batt. isolater or somthing to convert for 12 volt to charge optima already under the hood. thanks Alot!! ALL opinions are welcome!!
  9. I was hoping to hear a little about what kind of alternators you guys use / have used and what your experience with them is. Like what size is it, for what vehicle, how many, what is it powering, what is it putting out? ...did it fail, is it nearly indestructible, did you have to customize your vehicle to make it fit (and how so?) Basically any information you provide would be really helpful. You can only find so much information from digging on the internet before you have to start asking questions. Anyway, I want to buy a new alternator for my Pontiac g6, but I'm really unsure of what to get. The biggest alt I can find for my vehicle is a 240 amp. Basically I'd like to be able to have a more than sufficient power supply if possible. I don't think there is any room to run a second alt under the hood.. Which would be nice. But I was thinking if there was a way for me to make a custom bracket to mount a bigger universal alternator.. that would probably be best? If anybody has personal experience with a g6 and alternators, please let me know! I would greatly appreciate any personal experiences, suggestions and feedback
  10. I received my mechman 370 alternator today and installed, however it's charging at 19v I'm sure this is not safe and was wondering if I did anything wrong. I have big 3 all 1/0 Memphis wire. Any help would be appreciated

  16. In india you usually don't see such kind of installs very often. This country is yet to see some crazy and insane guys most of the guys have in their ride already. I just took a small step in bringing that culture to india. First of all the ride in which everything went in
  17. This is what my pulley is doing. I have a new belt on it, however it is the aftermarket correct length for a regular alternator. Does anyone know the correct model number in the Continental brand I can get? I'm sure this is not normal at idle and I need a shorter length. Just don't know how much... Belt I ordered. https://www.amazon.com/Continental-Elite-4060905-Poly-V-Serpentine/dp/B000C34KU6
  18. Can one external voltage regulators run two alternators, i bought two alts that are designed around my system and i want to know if i can run only one voltage regulator for both alts, The company sent two regulators but im trying to see if i can get away with using one.
  19. I am looking to upgrade the electrical in my Honda Civic 1.8L 08 Coupe. I already have done some preliminary stuff, but I am in need of an alternator option. From what I can tell Mechman is a great option, but I wanted to know if anyone has had experiences with Mechman in a Civic? or any other companies for that matter.

  23. so i have been looking around, maybe didnt look hard enough idk, but i cant seem to find out why with my setup im having a drop. 2004 Silverado Mechman 370 amp and voltage regulator with guage big 3 d3400 under hood d3100 in back Skar 2500 2 Fi Btl n2 at 1ohm So my voltage as far as i have read is ok to be set at 15v with these xs and i have had it this way for idk 2 years now and this issue has been this way whole time just asking the question now before i prep for the DC 10k to be put in, the issue is obviously voltage drop at idle its fine with alternator over the 1200 or 1500 rpm whatever it is but from reading other ppls setups to me seems like i should be able to run my setup full tilt without that much voltage drop. the voltage drop is enough to turn off my headunit so like below 13.5 idk my headunit doesnt like voltage too much lower than stock which is kinda good since it doesnt stay on like below 13 to really damage my stuff. So i know adding another d3100 id be set but for like 2700w 3 big batts and a 370 seems like alot, i checked my grounds they seem solid and fine its all 1/0 and hydraulic crimped so is there something wrong or does this setup seem like ya i should be dropping that much at idle because i dont want to have this problem when i add my 10k and have to have more batteries than i actually should need, and no i dont plan on running a 10k on just 2 batteries but i would like to know about how many d3100 i should need oh and system tuned with dd-1 and cc-1 headunit is pioneer DEH-x8500BS

  25. ok so i have been wanting to get a 170 amp high output alt from mechman for almost a year. then i finally get the money and order it for my 2001 oldsmobile alero 2.4L. i wait a week and then i get a email that says the tracking code and everything. about a week later i receive my alternator. everything looks great and im super excited to put it in my car. go to my dads shop to put it in. we start taking out the old one and my dad is telling me that shit aint gonna fit. i just keep telling him dad its made just for my car and engine. so we try to put it in and the post and plug are on top of the alterntor instead of on the front. so the post is poking the intake and there is definitely no way this would work. so i take it out put my stock one back in mad as hell that i spent this money and it doesn't fit. so i call mechman and they tell me to send them pictures of the stock and the mechman alt. so i do and they tell me i can send it back so they can move the post and plug to the front were it was suppose to be the first time. i ask the guy brian i was talking to if i could get a shipping receipt so i wouldn't have to pay for shipping since i shouldn't have too. and he tells me we can send it back for free but you have to send it to us and pay for the shipping. so i get real pissed and he just says thats all we can do for you. so i said whatever and called them again and talked to someone else and i talk to josh and he is real cool trying to help me out. he tells me if i return it with my money and then email him a picture of the receipt they would reimburse me. so im like hell ya i guess things are starting to workout after im about to kill myself cause all the bullshit. so i send it off in about a hour and email him the receipt and tracking number and all he says is wow!! is shouldn't of been that much. it should of been no more then 20 bucks he said. and asked if i had special insurance or anything. i emailed him back saying my mom brought it for me and that was the cheapest they could do. which was 39 bucks. so its today and he still hasnt emailed me back from yesterday. so i email him again. call and couldnt get a hold of him. so now im just sitting here pissed cause i had to pay 40 bucks to ship something back that should of fit in the first place and they wont even give me my money back after they promised to reimburse me since its to expensive to give out shipping labels for free. so im just stuck now waiting to get a email.
