peak How to reach Peak Power? Can someone explain it
m4n1akx posted a topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Hello everyone , I`m new to this forum . I`ve been searching for an answer for some time now and can`t find it. So for example I have a 500 W rms subwoofer , and an 500w rms amp. The sub is rated for 1000W peak, how can i reach that , when I set my gains , I get only 500W then the signal clips. So i will never reach 1000W peak. Buying a bigger amp for let`s say 1000w rms , and setting the sub that way will mean it will play all the time at 1000W (peak ) and blow. Is peak only for SPL competitions where you do 2 3 sec of peak , or I should hear it when playing music in my car and a big bass drop comes in ? Please someone... I need some light on this. -
Would it be ok if i put a xs3100d in the trunk of my car? Would my alt be able to supply enough power for the 2 batteries? Also is is ok to have a smaller battery in front and a bigger one in the back? I would like to just put a 3400d in the trunk also instead of the 3100d if that would be enough power.

Alright guys, I am all done hearing about "clamping". The numbers generated from that are so far off and don't account for many factors. I just did a quick little dyno run vs the clamps tonight to show how drastic the error is. If you want to know more detail about why clamping doesn't work, there is another video on the D'Amore Engineering youtube channel that describes the problems in detail. Clamps vs Amp Dyno vid here: Detailed explanation of why clamping is wrong vid here:

So this is my problem guys, i have 8 mid range speakers 8" 4ohm 1000 watts/ 500rms each speaker in my 2007 nissan altima, i am looking for the best amplifier to push these mids to their capacity. now i know i will need more than one amp to these seeing that there arent mid range amps that push this much watts per channel. So im throwing this out the so i can get some feed back on which amp should i get to push these mid range of 4000 watts rms power
