  1. Hey guys so im planning on going to a show in July and I want to compete in the Outlaw SPL event which will be my first event. The only problem is im having trouble in understanding what class I would be in so I can register. My system specs are in the description and the system runs at 14.4v.

Curious to know if they are legit... The 8" sub looks fairly promising. Looking to build my first 4th order for my Camry and I'm either going with 8's or 10's, until I get the hang of it.   5. A friend of mine I am doing an install for a SA-15 keeps mentioning how he was hitting 40's with his single SA-15 on 1000wrms.I just kept saying okay and shrugging it off. He sent me this video today saying this is how loud he wants his. The guy doesnt mention where the mic is in the video but i was just wondering what yall thought.

  7. So I've been lurking the site for awhile and really like what everyone's got going on with their systems, so I decided to throw together a bullshit little budget build. Everything cost me roughly $500 and I threw it together in my spare time, and I really don't have much of that, working 16 hours a day, 6 days a week is a real kick in the ass. I still have a lot left to do, gotta relocate the amp, seal off the trunk and upgrade and re-run the wires and all that fun stuff, so if you want to flame, feel free, doesn't phase me at all, it just states your ignorance and you think being an e-thug is really cool. And if you want to offer advice, I'm all ears. So here it is: HU - JVC KD-R810 Subs - 2 10" Pioneer Premier Championship Pro's Amp - Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200 Box is around 4 cubic feet, tuned to 42hz This was just a test run of the subs in my old boxes... Don't mind the squeaking, the terminal cup in the bare box was missing screws...

  9. So guys, something has been brought to my attention. The build I'm gonna be working on is pretty much copying off of "Altima1" on here's build. Anyway, he has over 250sqft of Deadener in his Altima. But also mentioned that he had quite a deal of Luxury Liner Pro by second skin, installed in the trunk and Roof to further dampen the vibrations for his loud Low-End Bass (26-30hz range usually). - Is the Luxury Liner / Any type of Liner material necessary for a Loud Low End build?? Is 2 Layers of Sound Deadener on the metal not enough? I'm using one layer of Second Skin's Alpha Damp for the first layer. Havn't figured out the 2nd yet, probably Second Skin Damplifier. But with those 2 Deadeners combined throughout my vehicle, shouldnt the Low end come through pretty well? Its gonna be a Sealed Off 15 from the Trunk. - Anyone with good knowledge on Sound Dampening is there any advice you could give? - Thanks!
  10. Got my HDS300 15" D2 for $135 shipped off a guy on fb. Was used but could not even tell of any use. Anyway, i researched these alot before deciding. 3 in coil and 1200 rms for $150? I thought it would be trash. boy was i wrong. VERY well built. I love it. New box build soon. But for now i am very happy. It is a monster my friends. Will be using them for my build. If any questions regarding the review on the woofer, i will try to answer them!

    150db Quest!

    Hey guys i have a 2006 chevy cobalt 4dr.im wanting to hit close to 150db. Im at 148.1 now with 2 DD 9512s and a DD M3 amp @.5 ohm box tuned around 44hz.... Everyone was hating on me at first so im just updating my build.. let me know what you guys think about it now.....
  13. Previously I had 2 psi reconed re sx 18s in a 4th order in the bed of my truck. I was doing 153s at 33hz. I sold them thinking that 5 12s would be louder. I bought 5 rockford fosgate p3 12s thinking they would be louder because they had more surface area and more rms. When I put them in I was barely doing 140s. I tried changing out the ports and decreasing the sealed chamber which ended up making it sound better but not any louder. What am I doing wrong? Theoretically it should be louder right? The box is 29.5 cubic feet by 11.5 cubic feet (after displacement) After I changed shrunk the rear chamber it is now 6 cubic feet but easily changeable back if need be.

    8 8s not loud ?

    i just finished my door panel and i install 8 Sound-stream SME-804 i hook them all up to a old rf p850.4 bridged 4 ohms too 2 channels the problem is my 4 6.5 pwx on 40 watts are louder then all 8 8s lol . why and is it, bc crescendo pwx are really good and very sensitive. or was sound stream a horrible choice, not enough power? .......... idk what u guys think btw the pwxs are on a power crap 4 channel amp i got for 10 bucks the reason i went with sound stream was bc they where on sale should have went with the prvs to late.
  15. So since my first box I have wanted to do an enclosure with no space restrictions. A build that focuses on cone area and low tuning. Subs are HDS200's (ordered one already to see if I like them, I will post pictures here when it gets here) Soundqubed is very vague with there enclosure recommendations and i'm looking for a more specialized design My first dilemma is with the box and is if I should go with a 2x2 pattern such as this: Or a 4x1 pattern such as this: (ported though) My only real limits are what can fit through my doorframe's in my house. I was playing with the RE Box Calculator and I can make both styles fit. I want between 12-19 cubes. (<---cant believe i'm serious with this) tuned low to 28-35 hrz It can be enormous, only one of the dimensions needs to conform to the doorframe's

    Smd like box design

    I posted a recent thread asking about more power out my electrical system. I am also designing a box for my Rockford t2 15 pushed by a t1000bd. I want to build a box like Steves Lexus either the plexiglass window I bought 3/4 lexan and to go in it. My current design is to have a fiberglass top so the sub fires up and then have a plexi window in the back facing the back hatch of my Explorer, with the port firing to the back. The plexiglass is only going to be a window I have about 3 inches of space all the way around the plexiglass. So my question is has anyone tried sub up port back in a suv or can anyone tell me if it will sound better with the port up
  17. Whats going on my friends? I have tried searching through the thread on my question and have found one link that is almost a year old and not sure if anyone besides me has happened to come across it. I posted on there but since the thread has been dead for so long, I am sure that it wont be seen for sometime. My question, I am looking for a good design that will give me nasty loud lows and give good spl. As the title says, those are the subs I am running. I know these subs can achieve decent levels as i had a set back in 96 @ 500Rms each on a gothic 1600 bridged and nailed 142.2. All in a full size custom van. I am working with a set of 12D2 @ 2ohm on a mrx m240 and you can take a look at my pictures and see how it looks... i have my old m1000 in the pics and have redone the wiring so a new pic will be posted soon showing what it looks like now. ( Before you say anything.... I will be getting rid of the Cap as it is useless for my current setup) I would like to keep the subs facing up, and have thought of inverting them as well if it wont totally kill SPL... but I would also like to vent on the drivers side... Either up or to the front... again.... which ever would be better to achieve decent numbers at the meter. I am going to be mounting two kinetic 2400's with it so my measurements will change from what i thought i was going to be able to use... as for now these are the dimensions i have to work with. i have 62.5" side to side. 18" tall and 20" front to back... i am looking for something that will get low and nasty... I am not sure the dimensions of the 2400 so if anyone knows.... please throw in a bone so i can get a better clue of what siz my box is going to be. i could get the smaller 600 or 800 and maybe mount them in the side panels under my xcab windows but still i dont have dimensions and with the power i will need on my m240 i think either of those would be a waste... or should i just mount 2 1200's under my hood and bump up to a 300 amp alternator and call it good? I have done some smaller builds and never had to worry about the things that i am doing now so bare with me on it... I am not completely noob when it comes to wiring.. as i never let anyone else ever install my equipment... just looking for assistance on a box design and maybe placement of secondary batteries and maybe the best way to fuse them to prevent damage to my subs and amps.   19. Hello everyone, This is my first post here, or on any forum on the interwebz. Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide. So my old focus hatchback decided to kick the bucket and I purchased a 2012 chrysler 200. Not my first choice of bass car but its nice and they were the only dealership in the Ann Arbor MI are that could get me a reasonable loan. I have 1 Sundown Z v.3 18 that i would love to try to cram in the trunk, i built the box for it that was in my focus but it will not fit in the chrysler so im looking for advice on how to make the proper choices for port size and what not. I do not plan to compete, i like it loud but clear also. Im not a strick audiophile but i can tell whats good and not. I love the lows, feeling the music is the best part but i listen to all sorts of music not just rap so id like to be able to have a bit of range. The trunk has a max height of 14.5 inches (that includes space for the woofer to move), 38" wide at the smallest point and id like to keep it to a max length of 30ish". I obviously dont care about having any trunk space left, thats why we have back seats right? For the time being ill be using my orion hcca 10 in the spec ported box that i paid wayyy to much to have the local shop build a few years ago. Power is a Hifonics Brutus brx 1600, kinetik hc 2000, knukoncepts ofc 1 awg, stock alt, new front batt soon and big 3 soon, there is only the stock crap in the car right now. And i know the amp isnt amazing but it gets the job done. So after the longwindedness you just endured what would yall say is a good port option? 6 to 7 cube box, i know the rule of thumb is 12 to 16 in sqd per foot cubd, id like to be around 32 33 hz. I was think an internal height of about 11", sub mounted up to a single baffle with a second overtop to make it flush and add strength and some 2x4 braces around the cutout. Single baffle everywhere else. My last box i messed up on calculations (first time) and ended up tuned way high but it sounded pretty good, got loud and still played down into the 20s. It is 1.5 inch mdf all around, resind the inside, 45d the corners, bedlined the outside, it weighs more than my gf with a purse full of rocks. Id like to go birch and stain it this time Thank you all again, im open to any and all suggestions. I can post pics too if anyone wants. As an fyi i have no comp to use any box building software since my macbook pro was stolen a year and a half ago so im all website calcs and paper.

    Spl help for some tens?!?!?

    Alright. So I got a tricky question. I recently installed a pro box wit . Some cadence subs. I previously had some digital designs 510 subs in a ported box... I'm not sure what it is tuned too. But it's tuned low. I know where a local crank it up will be and I'm seriously debating if I should build a box for spl to compete. The only amp i have at the moment is a planet audio 1200.2 anarchy and it gets the job done.... For being planet audio. But Iwas jjust wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions for me if I do decide to build a box. It'll be tuned to 46-50 hz. I just started thinking about it yesterday and I haven't even started on box plans..... Yet. Thanks in advance any help given
  21. I have been looking around to uprgrade my bass. I have ordered a pioneer gmd9601 amp that claims 1200rms @1ohm. As far as subs, I have been looking into 2 10 inch subs. sundown SA, FI X, RE SEx are a few I have researched. I have an Isuzu rodeo so space is not much of a problem. What are peoples' ideas and suggestions to get loud? can't upgrade the amp right as of yet.
  22. Hey, so I'm building myself a new enclosure for spring, so as to accommodate higher power and more displacement. While I do have a lot of enclosure construction experience, I am stumped on this one. I plan to build a new 4th order (B-pillar wall, has to stay in vehicle) with a larger port and more bracing (already eliminated modifying current enclosure). My difficulty is not in the building of the enclosure, but in the finishing. Now, in the past I used to use fiberglass resin on the inside of boxes to reduce box rise and help increase my airflow. I would just crawl in the port, turn on a big ass fan to suck the fumes out, and go to town. Because of recent health occurrences, I am unable to inhale any fumes from resin even through a mask, because my lungs will collapse. Is there some alternative to resin I can use to achieve a similar effect? I'm willing to give up little bit of SPL to live, but not too much haha. And yes, I am aware that crawling into a complete box to resin was dangerous to begin with, but at the time I didn't think anything of it.
  23. So I got rid of the H3. I Bought a brand new 2013 Ridgeline (Honda). I was wondering if you guys have any opinions on a 4th order blow through. My plans so far are this. Port will be 8 3/4 x 11 1/4 8 total inches coming through the armrest area into from the bed of truck. The sealed portion will be 3cubes. 49.25 w x 18.75 h x 8 deep. The ported portion will be 49.25w x 18.75 h x 14.5 d . I was wondering if I should make any changes to the port depth at all. Or just any input whatsoever. The subwoofer will be a Atomic APX 18" D2. thank you all, And I welcome all comments. So this is my work in progress, the truck
  24. On Nov. 3rd I'll will be going to the 1x Iasca and Db Drag event in Concord, NC. This will bey first event ever and the only thing I'm really interested in other than seeing other peoples cars is finally getting mine metered. What should I be expecting? Any tips? EDIT: They will have bass boxing, db drag, and bass race there. Which event should I compete in? Im not looking to win anything, I just want to see what numbers my car will put up. Is there any class that will let me go vented? (windows down) or is it all sealed?
