  1. 6 phase Billet-Tech alternators offer more low RPM output than any other standard on the market, period. This unit features cutting edge 6 phase hairpin stator technology for incredible durability and high RPM stability. Instead of a single rectifier assembly, this unit features TWIN rectifiers and twice as many diodes to spread out the heat, and dramatically increase durability. This unit also uses 15% less horsepower per Kilowatt of energy produced, as compared to other popular brand alternators. If you have poor alternator charging performance at engine idle speeds, low voltage, or pre-mature alternator failure due to RPM or heat, a Billet-Tech alternator is the solution. In addition to fundamentally more efficient technology, this unit also features: - Oversized charge post for sturdy cable connections - Premium low-drag bearings - Ultra-precision balanced rotor for 20,000 rpm capability - Twin rectifiers with 12 press fit diodes - Hairpin epoxy re-enforced vibration resistant stator - Precision pulley machined from bar stock (decorative and custom pulleys sold separately) Any questions call 1-888-MECHMAN or billetalternator.com or mechman.com
  2. Had a issue with the Jeep Commanders 320 amp alternator, the postive stud got so hot it melted the power wires going to battery. Removed alternator and replaced with spare alternator. Sent it in 11/24/14 got it back already today repaired looking like new again! Cannot believe how fast the repair service is. This is the reason why I use Mechman. Why did it fail? I don't care been doing this long enough to know mechanical machines go out. Something generating 320 amps of current can have failures. Thanks Mechman you Rock the Commander!!!!! Keep up the good work!
  3. Hello everybody, I'm doing a new system and I need to get this box rite the first time, don't have money to waste. I'm running three sundown zv3 15" d2 on two sundown 3500s strapped at 1.33. The box needs to be 10 cubes net, after woofer and port displacements. I'm pretty set on how big it's gone be.(43w. 20h. 29l) external. I was told that aero ports are louder in suv's than slot port. I went to world finals this year in Florida and the guys who were running no walls pretty much all had aeros , and this got my attention. I was thinking of two 8 inch aero ports that are 16" long giving me a tune of 32-33 hz. But then again I always use slot and had great expierences with them. I'm so confused on wat to do, especially with bracing, wether or not to use 45s etc. I just wish someone who builds boxes on a regular can chime in and give me some ideas. Keep in mind this box is for daily street beater.
  4. Hello everyone I'm new on here and I need some help from the pro box builders and choosing the rite subs. Here wat I have so far. Mechman 340 amp alt, five kinetik hc2400s, four runs 0 , two crescendo bc 3500s strapped at 1ohm ( 8 to 9k rms). And a jeep with about 16 cubes net to play with. I want something will be crazy loud and make people feel very uncomfortable sitting in there. My last subs were four 15 Memphis mojos in 16 cubes port up sub up. It pounded hard but it didn't give me wat I wanted. I went to spring break nationals and heard a guy from team sundown named mike who was running four niteshade 12"s on one NS1 in 9 cubes and it impressed the he'll out of me. I thought to myself damn that's wat I want. Ive always thought that to be stupid loud I needed huge and multiple woofers . I look on YouTube and see guys running two 18"s with 4 to 10 k hitting crazy numbers on the term lab, I don't no if I need two 18"s, four 12"s, four 15"s,. I need some real help. Sorry fr the long thread, just reaching out for help.
  5. Voltage dropping to 12.8 at full tilt with 330 amp alt, four kinetik batts, four runs 0 guage , one optima up front. I don't understand , but it only does it when I'm just sitting at idle. When I ride and play it it's fine, .voltage drop no less than 13.3V. Wat do I need to do???? I'm confused do I need more batteries , more runs of 0 guage ????
  6. Wat kind of electrical would you need to properly run two sundown 3500s strapped @ 1 ohm full tilt.???? Batteries- Runs of 0 guage- I alreadly have a 330 amp mechman alt.
  7. Hello everyone. Here's my question that I'm debating with my self. Can two 18"s be louder than four 15"s in the same or less airspace... Meaning I have space for four 15"s in my jeep which I no would pound hard as he'll, but I have had two sub setups were it pounding just as hard , and I'm guessing it's Because the two 15" box was a lot smaller than the four 15" box , which ended up I guess allowing more air to come to the front instead of the bass getting trapped with a four 15" box. I'm Intrested in either two 18"s or four 15"s preferably sundown audio zv3 15"s or two niteshade 18s. The 15"s can go in a box thats 12 to 13 cubes and the two 18"s 8 to 10 cubic ft. I love the sundown line because they dn require big boxes like most subs. Any opinions on this will be much appreciated.
  8. Sent the following to Mechman via their online form, but I figured I would post here to see if anyone else has any insight on this for me in the mean time while waiting for their response. "Hello, I purchased one of your alternators, via Sonic Electronix, for my 2008 Chevy Silverado. It has the 5.3L (VIN-J) and the alternator model is the 270A 8302270. I wired it with all 1/0 OFC cable, ensured the ground from the alternator to the battery runs through the Hall Effect sensor, used a 3/8” shorter belt (Gates) and replaced the tensioner for a new one (Gates). All works great except one thing, when the engine gets to about 3000-3500 RPM the voltage drops to battery voltage, then once back to idle the voltage comes back up. I'm not sure if this is by design or if there is some belt slippage at high RPM. If it is the latter, I cannot tell since it is a new install and I see no indication of belt dust yet. I wanted to get your input before I start going out buying anything. I eventually am going to order Gates Green Strip belts since I cannot get them locally, but I want to be sure of the length before I do. Right now, I have brand new Gate Micro-V belts installed since I can get those locally. The stock belt is 94" (K060935). Right now I have the 93-5/8" (K060930) installed, but the 93" (K060923) will fit, however with the 93" installed the tensioner is almost maxed, unsure if that is a factor or not. If you think I need a shorter belt, I will go out and purchase the 93" and if that solves my problem, I will be ordering the 93" Green Strip version (K060923HD). Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon so I can resolve this." I should also mention I did try the 93" but never ran it with it due to the tensioner being almost maxed, so I returned it for the currently installed 93-5/8". I'm doing a new build to, so other than stock components, there are no aftermarket devices (amps, etc.) putting any additional load on the alternator other than a second battery.
  9. So I recently bought a 240 amp alternator from Mechman Alternators for my 1998 GS300, now I have one problem. Every time my rpm's goes past 5k and I let off the gas my battery light comes on, I did not have this issue with my stock alternator. I have upgrade to 1/0 gauge KnuKonceptz Wire for my the Big 3 Three, although for my power run I have a 4 gauge run (I have no amplifiers yet, so I believe it won't draw the full the 240 amps but will pull stock load for now which is somewhere around 100 amps). I have copper lugs, an XS Power D3400, a new Goodyear Gatorback Belt, and also added an inline fuse. I have done everything that was asked and I still have a problem. Does anyone have any insight? I am wondering if it may have to do with the stock power wire being still connected and the fuse box being overloaded with power? I don't think that is the case, though not 100% sure, any information will help. I am also linking a video of the battery light coming on past 5k rpms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI-QM5azcTA
  10. I am not the one to right a review. But since I purchased a 320 Amp Alternator for the Jeep Commander here are the lows and highs of it on system. Low idle charging on meters-14.3 volts High dle charging on meter-14.9 volts. These are a beast and has taken care of the charger being put on everyday. Buy Mechman!!!!!!!!
  11. Got the new Mechman 320 amp alternator installed this morning in 15 minutes!!!! The alternator is right on top so not one issue. Old one was 160 amp alternator 320 is keeping everything in Jeep happy now! Going to run a another power run to back for a total of 2 runs to rear.
  12. Can anybody help me out. I have a jeep srt8 and I'm doing a build for four 15" American bass hd subs and two crescendo bc3500s. I want to no if I run a mechman 320 amp alternator , big three, possibly a xs power under the hood if it will fit , and two xs power d3100s in the back be good for those crescendo's. I no that the crescendo rate there power rating at 13.8 volts. So if Im the 14s I'm guessing it will put out more power. If this combination of batteries and ho alt will work how low of voltage will I see on my meter if I'm at full tilt. Mind you this is for daily
  13. Can anybody help me.????? I'm trying to run two power and two ground runs from front to back. I have a 320 mechman alt for a jeep srt8. Four kinetik hc2400s will be in the back. I was told two run my two power wires straight to the alternator along with my two grounds to the alternator motor mount. I was told to take power 1 and run that two positive on battery 1 and the other positive wire on battery 3. Run ground wire one to battery negative 2 and the other ground wire to battery negative 4. Connect battery 1 and two together positive and negative and then batteries 3 and 4 . Then link batteries 2 and 3 together. I didn't have any room in the trunk cargo area for the batteries so they are sitting on the floor so with this being said that's y I'm linking 2 and 3 together. He also said run a power wire from the alternator to front battery positive. And then take the front battery negative and run to either the frame or the motor mount were the other two grounds are. My thing is y not run the two power wires from the back to the front battery positive and the same with with the negatives.
