  1. OK, I built and completed the first prototype kit today for Top Post applications. I believe you guys are REALLY going to dig this kit! These kits will be all 1/0 AWG and offered in (3) lengths, 3 foot, 4 foot, and 5 foot. As usual, I only use tin-plated OFC cable that meets the American Wire Gauge specification for all of my kits. All lugs are SUPER thick tin-plated copper (about three times the weight of standard lugs). All lugs are crimped with our in-house crimping press and then insulated with our SUPER thick adhesive lined heat shrink tubing to promote a weather resistant connection! The 3 foot 1/0 AWG Top Post Big 3 Kit sells for $115.95 and includes: (1) 3 foot 1/0 AWG Charge Lead - 5/16" lug on one end, and 3/8" lug on the other (1) 3 foot 1/0 AWG Alternator Ground Lead - 3/8" lugs on each end (case / mounting bolt of alt to frame) (1) 2.5 foot 1/0 AWG Battery Ground Upgrade Lead - 3/8" lugs on each end (battery negative (-) to frame) (1) 2 foot 8 AWG Accessory Ground Upgrade Lead - 3/8" lug on one end, and 1/4" lug on the other (battery negative (-) to body) (1) Pair Lead Free Military Style Battery Clamps (1) Pair Rockford Fosgate Platinum plated ring terminals (used to connect stock cables to new clamps - no tools required) All associated hardware Step-by-step instructions with full-color photos The 4 foot 1/0 AWG Top Post Big 3 Kit sells for $127.95 and the first two cables listed are each one foot longer. The Military Style Clamps make install a breeze. Note the RF ring terminals are utilized here to easily connect the stock cables with no special tools required. So, you also need to run a 1/0 AWG to the rear to your amps? No problem. Note the additional 1/0 AWG power wire attached to the positive clamp - no prob as this clamp was designed to accommodate a total of three large lugs. As with all of our charging system upgrade kits, we offer a Rockford Fosgate ANL Fuse Holder and correctly sized fuse (based on the size of your alt) for the charge lead to protect on-board electronics in the event that the alternator experiences voltage run-away. This is a $50.00 upgrade and that includes the fuse as well as an additional foot of cable for the charge lead so that you can find a nice spot to mount the fuse holder (no you can't tie it to a wiring harness) and make a nice clean run to the battery.   2. Hey everyone had a question about the power handling of the DC level 3s and level 4s with or without some of the upgrades done to them. I am planning on building my first system with higher end components (specifically the DC Audio Subs) and want to make sure that I am taking the right steps to maximizing my systems potential without running the risk of damaging anything in the process. My amplifier is an Alpine MRX-M240 (Alpines biggest amp, currently discontinued) that is cea certified and is bench tested at 2600 watts at 2 ohms so my sub goal is 2 12D2s wired to a 2 ohm load. The box plans are changeable but I was considering a box built by Khaotik Enclosures. Specs are a 4.0ft^3 Volume dual slot ported trupan light MDF double baffle tuned to 32hz. Width 37” Height 16 ½” Depth 22 ¼” My questions regarding the DC subs are pretty much which combination would be the right fit and why 1) Stock level 3s Or level 3s with AR Upgrade Or Level 3s with Carbon Fiber 2) Level 3s with Level 4 Coils 3) Stock level 4s 4) Level 4s with carbon fiber (assuming carbon fiber is lighter than the stock parts) The rest of my system will be up to the task of the power demands as far as any concerns there goes. The rest of the components being as follows. Big 3 is done, an XS Power D3400 installed as a secondary battery, all OFC 1/0 gauge runs. Pioneer headunit, LCi8 audio processor & epicenter bass processor. Sorry for the length but I figure more information is better than not enough. Thanks again for any and all input.
