Hi I recently installed a new system in a 1999 chevy Tahoe. I’m getting a whining noise from my speakers. And it gets higher pitch with higher acceleration. I’ve Been reading online trying to figure it out but am kinda stuck. I am using a ces 40ah lto so it’s in the back of the vehicle. I have a mechman 400a alternator with dual runs of 1/0 going to the battery in back. I have 1/0 cable from the engine block to the frame, and two runs of 1/0 from the battery in the back to the frame. Then the 4 channel amp is grounded to the body by the rear fender. And the mono amp is grounded to the battery itself. I have both rcas on the passenger side along with passenger speaker wire. Driver side has speaker wire and power wire for the 4channel amp. Also have the amp remote wire on passenger side. I removed passenger side speaker outputs and whine was still present in driver side. So I removed driver side as well and there was no whine. So with all speakers disconnected no whine. I also unplugged rcas, with speaker outputs connected and the whine was present. Some pics of the connections. Thanks in advance.
My name is Branden, I have a 99 honda accord 4cyl that I have been having trouble with ever since I put the high output alt on. I've had this Amp in three different cars on stock alternators and never had any problems, if I have my volume too loud I can get the belt to smoke... Also at idle the rpms drop like crazy when it's only about half way up. I'm shipping out the alternator today but I really just need some help. I have a few years of experience with car audio and have never seen anything like this, here's my setup. Js alternators 250a alt 0/1 ofc all thru 1 battery under hood 1 in trunk both lead acid Twisted sounds 3.5k Directed audio 600 /4 1 12" fi q neo New 250a fuses If you can help me out please do!
I have a 2016 Kia optima and I am planning a system as we speak, I just a few questions to make sure everything is in order and I maintain 14 volts or so since it is my daily driver. The components I have planned to use are as follows. Subs - 2x SUNDOWN AUDIO X Series v.2 12" (1500-watts) Amp - 1x Sundown Audio SALT-4 Battery - XS POWER | D7500 | 5000W / 7500W (I will also have my stock battery under the hood Alternator - 320 amp to replace the stock one Wiring - All down4sound tinned wiring (big 3 ofc kit, 1/0 amp kit, 2nd battery wiring kit) Box - TEAM DOWN4SOUND BUDGET BANGER "PRO-FAB" SUB BOX - DUAL 12 tuned to 31hz ported 4 cu ft Those are my plans for now, main question is if the alt and battery setup is going to be enough and if not what should I do? Amp will be wired at 1 ohm and there is a possibility of adding say a 300-500 watt amp in the future for mids and highs. Final question, do you think itll slam??
