  1. I just bought an Audioque 1200D. The shop set my gains and I'm sure they're up about half way.. They said to be careful with the bass knob as to not make the subs go BOOM! They're running two Skar VVX-12's. A couple Questions... -Is it a gain knob or bass boost? and difference? -Also, for my subs around what level should I turn my Bass Knob to? (A little past all the way minimum and they get pretty loud.. don't wanna push the subs yet as they aren't broken in, but I've never had a system). (edit: so far not even putting the knob up past one eighth Thanks!
  2. So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up. My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being: HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4 Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps. Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. I'll post pictures as i go through the install. edit: fixed the pictures
  3. Alright guys, decided to wait until the build was finished to start a log. Gear list is H/u - Alpine CDE-123 Subs- 2 AQ HDC3 15's Aluminum coil Sub Amp - AQ3500d.1 4ch Amp - Alpine mrp-f300 Door speakers - Polk DXI 570 x4 2 Pos and Neg runs of Knu OFC All Knu RCAs Electrical consists of a Mechman 270A alt, D3400 up front, and a D3100 in the back. All connected with ProjectDB battery terminals. Anywho, on to the pictures....i'm sure i'm forgetting something or leaving pictures out. Alt compared to stock D3400 in with stock wiring Double-up of big 3 added, because I know an upgrade is bound to happen It was hard drilling into the Ex All grommets put in place Runs finished to the back Not the prettiest thing, but made brackets to keep my fuse holders in place. (old Droid Eris with no flash FTL) Coming up from under the car, wires were ran of the drivers side. Woo! Alot more time than I thought it was going to take. Shot of the runs covered in conduit from the front Under the car look at the wires coming in the cabin What the runs looked like before the conduit clamps. Free conduit from work FTW! Ya know, looks just a little tidier with the clamps on.... Used the spots that the running boards bolted into since they weren't being used And now a few random shots of the equipment...   4. well finally broke in the new hd12d2 on a ma sy7011dx and gave it 1500 rms. let me tell you im really suprised at how much more bass i get from this one sub in a box to spec, then from my two memphis m3 15s on a memphis pr1000.1. this thing is insane. i want to get another one. or upgrade to an 18". if anyone has an amp that is true 3000 rms let me know.

Ok so yesterday my car went crazy on me, i turned it off, took the key out, and the car would still run, only until my toggle switch for my amplifier was turned to off. however when the car was on with the keys in it and i turned the switch off, the bass still remained. i got a new switch, that didnt work, unplugged everything from my amp and plugged it back in, everything went back to normal. now my problem is, without changing any setting on the amplifier, bass level ranges over time and clips at less then half according to the bass knob. before i had it so i could crank it up all the way and bass would remain constant and not clip. can someone help me in diagnosing this problem?????
