  1. Hey all, long time no see. I’m having an issue with a Hifonics BRX 2000.1D, 06 so it’s CEA compliant. I had this amp running in my truck for about four months all fine and dandy. Recently the subs had stopped working then would work again later on after the truck had been restarted. It did this for about a week until it stopped emitting sound all together. I spent quit some time requiring and Metering all connections. All wiring was looking fine, subs are two Alpine type S D4 wired down to 1, gain was always less than half. Tested the RCAS with an rca/aux adapter and speaker which worked and I was able to get sound from the small speaker I had hooked up. After hours of messing and entering everything I remembered I had another amp laying around the shop so I swapped it out and wahla, everything worked fine again. I’ve since switched with another amp and same thing everything works fine. I decided to open the board up, no burning on anything that I could see. I couldn’t seem to really spot any loose soldered joints and I never metered anything on the circuit board yet since this would be the first time doing so. I was thinking maybe the inputs could be bad but I’m not too familiar with internal repairs. The amp will turn on and light will be green (no protect light) but doesn’t output. I’m currently away from home for a few days so I won’t be able to get any readings for anyone to help out as of now. Curious to see if anyone else has had this issue on their board being as I can mostly only find this type of problem with some sort of electrical issue with voltage and improper ground. Thanks in advance for any advice, hopefully I can save a bit of $ by repairing this amp! (p.s I could probably have someone send me internall pictures later on!)
  2. Hey guys! So I've been busy shopping some batteries and cables for my setup, so when the car is not running I'd be still capable of powering my setup fine. I bought some KnuKonceptz OFC 1/0 gauge wire, and ended up with two AGM batteries that I purchased used, but still in fine condition. (one 95 AH , and one 105AH) In order to get the max out of them I strapped the two together in hopes to get the sweet 200AH I was looking for based on this online calculator: https://www.batterystuff.com/kb/tools/calculator-sizing-a-battery-to-a-load.html When I set everything up, and tuned the amp, there came the big moment, to clamp test everything. I was suprised, but I only got around 800 RMS, on test tone. As far as amps go I got myself a Hifonics Brutus BRX 2016.1D, and a pair of Rockford Fosgate P3 D4 subs. The reason why I wrote down everything this meticulously, is because I wold like to know what could went wrong with my little test. According to my calculations I shold easily get 1000 RMS, with this particular choice of equipment. The batteries are capable of producing this kind of power, the wiring is overkill for 1k I think, the amp is rated at 2kw and even if half is true it is still 1kw, the subs are CEA-2031 rated and knowing Fosgate they are up to the task, I got the 200A fuse as recomended by the manual of the sub, so I don't know what could cause this power drop. What do you guys think can be the cause of the problem? Any thoughts wold be useful! ??
  3. My system: all stock electrical. Walmart brand battery, think it's about 775 cca not sure. Hifonics Brutus Brz 2016.1d 2000 watt rms stable and wired at 1 ohm. Roughly 5.7 cu ft {gross} 4.3 {net} ported sub up/ port back enclosure. port is 4" wide 13.5 tall 28" long after cabin gain I think she's tuned to around 34 hz. 2) Skar Audio EVL 12's dual 4's. So my subs are displaced, not side by side, but like -- _ ... I'm concerned that the placement of the subs vs. where the subs are/ or box size or port size is maybe making one of my subs bottom out? I'm just looking for tips and tricks with my setup. Any advice is greatly appreciated, I'm running 2 strands of 4 gauge power and 2 gauge ground btw. What can I do to make this thing a ground pounder?? Not so worried about metering, just wanna be heard and shake everything up. Shes loud but I feel like there's room for improvements with what I've got . Thanks guys
  4. I got this 15in sub in a tuned 32hz box, 2400.1 D hifonics zues amp and tons of extra 0ga wiring for a trade. its been custom capped and even dude i got it from had no idea. so I'm wanting to check the specs on it so i know what it can do without smoking it. it laughs at the 2400.1 and it has more to offer im sure. i have a hifonics brutus 3016.1 D at my fingers so i wanna find out what i can. any help would be great.
  5. Anyone able to identify the brand of this subwoofer? Cone cap on it and I have no idea. Guy said it was a 4000w. Another buddy said that he thought he knew but wasn't sure. The 2400.1 d Zues bangs the shit outta it but my question is before I upgrade to a bigger amp I would like to know exactly what its rated at. It bangs in my mountianeer! I'm wanting to get at least 1 more them or 3. Gotta start somewhere aye.
  6. Hi! New here! So I have just ordered this amplifier (don't bash it or anything, I am satisfied with the purchase and the amp's performance isn't in question) I currently have two Alpine Type-R 2013 SWR-12D2 12" subwoofers. They are 2ohm DVC. I ordered this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67935_Hifonics-BRX2000.1D.html Hifonics BRX2000.1D Now, the question or concern that I have is getting these subs wired into the amp for a final load of 2ohms. Normally, this would be easy as there are many diagrams showing how this can be done. What I cannot find is for this amp in particular. It has -/- and +/+ right next to each other in that order where the speaker output terminals are. How exactly do I go about wiring these? I'm a visual learner, so if anyone could draw me a labeled diagram with MS Paint that'd work perfect. Thanks in advance!
  7. My last system consisted of two Rockford p3 12s, a hifonics BRZ 1200 amp, and an obcon prefab box. They killed it in my Dodge Durango, sounded amazing. But after I sold that and bought a Honda Civic, I put them in there and I noticed the lower end of my bass sounded airy and was extremely quiet. What factors should I be looking at to fix this problem? New box? Tuning issue? Or does my car just not have enough airspace?
  8. so Was Wondering If AnyoNe Has Any Thoughts On A Sq Setup With A Hi Fi Sp4 15? Currently I Have Hifonics Brutus2500, 1700 @2 0Hms Would Like To Run At 2 As Its A Daily Driver. Considering Getting A Second Bre Strapping So Id Have 5000 @2 oOhms In Therory Anyways But Still Plenty Of Head Room. Any Experience With These? And Electrical System Not A Concern Big 3 3/0 Wire 275 Dc Alt Xs 3500 Batteries X3
  9. This will be my first post here on the site. Im currently running the American bass xfl 12" subs in a q bomb pro box off a hifonics brz 2400.1 with a red top under the hood in a 95 Avalon. So I need help designing a box where my subs face the rear but my port is facing the cab. I want the port in the center bc I want it blowing through the "arm rest hole" of the back seat. I will be posting a few drawing of what I have drawn up. no measurements yet, just ideas im playing with. This box I've designed is an L shaped ported box with the port in the back. what do you guys think??? will it work?? *******The blue represents the air flow. I also drew braces in the back....
  10. Okay so I had an old rockford fosgate power mono amp that was rated at 500w at 2ohms and i had two kicker comps SVC 4ohm subs wired to 2 ohms. Now i have a Hifonics Bxi2010d and two kicker cvr's DVC 4 ohm subs wired to 1 ohm and there is really no difference in sound i have also done the big 3 since i hooked up this amplifier up and my voltage drops from about 14.2 down to 13.5 or so. So my question is why is there no difference with atleast tripple the power i have read the the hifonics amp has been clamped around 1800w, I am still using the same box as before but with less impedance and more power shouldnt there be a noticeable difference?
  11. anyone ever clamped one of these???? any ideas on true rms @14v
  12. ok so I have a single 12" sundown x 12 d4 soon to be getting another in the mean time im looking to upgrade form an alpine mrx-m100 (1000 @ ohms [email protected] 1) its a weird amp wanting 2500-3000 rms at 1 ohm or a 2 chl that does 1250-1500 @ 2 ohm ect open to all offers on amps but I do not have 700 bucks to buy one lol you can pm me or reply on this thread ill get back asap thank you for any and all inquiries in advanced. p.s. new to buying on this forum so I will be noobin it up when it comes to buying someone with experience on how its done would be very much appreciated also
  13. im new to the spl world and loving it. i have 4- power acoustik mofo 152s on a hifonics bre2500. I've been to a few spl comps now and was wondering if inverting my subs would change my db rating at all? i haven't saw any cars at comps that have inverted subs so i didn't know if that was a sign, but no one locally can answer my question with a good explanation.
  14. (Sorry if bad english) Hi, I currently have a Hifonics BRX2416.1D (which delivers 1600w at 2 ohms) for my Sundown X12 V.2 (1500W, dual coil). The sub is 4ohm and wired at 2ohm, so it takes about 1600W. I want to buy another X12 V.2 D4, and a BRX3016.1d (which delivers 2000w at 2 ohms) to have a good amount of power and to wire the two amps as slave / master. But I really don't know : - Is it possible to wire two different amps as slave master? (like the 2416.1d and 3016.1d) - What will be the impedence if I put my two subs in parallel or series? - How many watts will each subs recieve? - If I manage to get about 2000w for each sub, will they take it or will they break? (I heard that sundown subs are underrated by the manufacturer) Thanks !
  15. I'm planning to purchase a Fi sp4 15 or a similar type subwoofer in the near future. I was wondering what your guys opinion is on getting a hifonics colossus 3200w amp or 2 mb quart onyx 1.2000d amps to power the one 15. I'm trying to stay around the $500 range for an amp purchase. Thanks.
  16. ok so on my quest to find a better amp than the one I have now ( alpine mrx-m100 600 @4, 1000 @2, 600 @1 that's straight out the manual) ive came acros an older alpine mrv1507 the alpine mrv 1507 is near 18 or so inches long and it is a 2 chl amp heres the spec form user manual 12v 20-20khz per chl 4 ohm - 150w 0.08% thd per chl 2 ohm - 300w 0.3% thd bridged 4ohm - 600w 0.3% thd 14.4v 20-20khz per chl 4 ohm - 225w 0.08% thd per chl 2 ohm - 450w 0.3% thd bridged 4 ohm - 900w 0.3% thd ive done some of my own research and everywhere I found says the amp is under rated but how far? and does anything it will handle 2 ohm bridged daily? ( I never drive far or bump to long so about maybe 10 or 15 min runs ) ohh asking price for it is 200 bucks
  17. does anyone have any ideas about these amps? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_32980_Hifonics-Boltar.html I have 4 massive audio m12s and need a 2 channel amp to power them.

  21. Just sold my hfi1500d and am picking up a sae1000d for 160.00 was wondering if in made the right decision by selling my hifonics and switching to sundown
  22. what would be a good amp for 2 sa-12s? ive looked at hif brutus 1700 or should i just fork out more money and buy crescendo bc2000.D. and whats the best box
  23. The 2017 HiFonics Brutus BRX3016.1D has a spec of 3000 watts at 1 ohm, but no mention of this being an RMS, MAX or Peak rating. We know many of you out there are interested to know as well, so BigD coughed up $260 to buy one of these amps to test for you guys. Make sure you watch all the way until the end...there are quite a few extra tests after the credits, including some very surprising results! Please like, comment and share this video! 25. i have really horrible RCAs and im guessing those are the reason every time i turn my music all the way down i hear a buzz noise. i have a hifonics BRZ 1200 wired to my subs on some crappy RCAs i got in like a 4 gauge wire kit from a while ago. and then i have some more shitty RCAs going to my kicker ZX 550.2. i have been looking up alot about RCAs and have just realized that there are actually different kinds of RCAs. so i was looking at rockford for the best quality since they are a good brand and idk if i should get the twisted ones or a different kind. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002YWZY08/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AO2T18/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER these are the RCAs i plan on getting but idk if they would be right for my system. any info is appreciated.
