I have good news for you guys, there is a new medicine out that is supposed to help with the ringing. I saw it on TV yesterday for the first time. It may not be new but if you guys care to look, it is out there. Silence almost hurts my ears cuz the ringing is pretty bad. I'm interested to learn more about the medicine that supposedly helps. I'm more concerned about the side effects...usually they are worse than the condition you have! Tinnitus can be caused from bacteria, virus or loud noise. Impacts (gun shots) can usually be recovered quickly, sustained noise takes longer. Continuous damage is usually irreparable. I have lost about 15% of my hearing and I won't get it back.
