wrapping the rear panels to match the front ones (in color only). They will never be seen but just in case someone DOES open that rear door, i dont want any FACTORY Tan to show.....

so this is like the most work ive done for someone who dont care and for something that has little chance of being seen much, but i have to get it done. Its the last of the few things i need to do before i am "officially" done. At this point i dont know about rims or paint or anything, i still have not heard from him in 4 months now.

i couldnt figure out how to get rid of that fuzzy backing stuff so i was just gonna "resin it up" and then sand it, body fill it, and then cover it.......well resin did what resin does best and that is eat the glue on the BACKSIDE of the fuzzy stuff........well damn it came off like butter! New trick!! Totally unintentional - now i have something cleaner to work off of

OK THIS IS JUST ONE AND IT KICKED MY ASS! I had a few "abortions" before i was able to stick this properly, those curves are harder then they look. I still have to dye the handle and wrap the top trim piece in suede and the middle insert too. I will probably just dye the rear grill black.

ONE DOWN one to go!

as ive stated MANY times, everything you do in car audio, you usually have to do twice, but this time the OPPOSITE side :D Anyway, the second panel got wrapped and all the suede pieces done.....then after that the handles need to be dyed to match the front panels.

Got the rest of the dye that my upholstery guy had from when he did the front handles.....he had just enough left over for me to snatch it up and bring it home.

the fact that the entire "wrap" hinges on whether or not you can make this look good is very stressfull. Not only do you have all those bends but you also have to turn over the top and pull the face down because this part SHOWS....i almost painted it because of this but i thought id give it a try anyway :D Got lucky!

ASS END finally DONE!!!!!

Time for these pesky little handles......heres the story with those. At the B-Pillar, the plastic is notched around the "grab handles" up top. If you leave them out, it shows factory sheet metal and bolt-holes (where they USED to be). Well since there is a wall, the handles dont fit anymore - so i had to butcher them up and wrap them to match. Watch the coming pics it will make sense :D

See the top of that B-Pillar to understand what i was doing with the handles - now that "notch" or "hole" is filled with something, a half-handle :D

Posted Image

Just gettin done for the day and i noticed some MORE TAN still lingering on the car!! These are the "other" door sills that are sorta on the outside of the vehicle and on the inside - they are halfway between the seat and the interior sills. You can see where they go after i paint and reinstall them. Oh it was also good to get rid of the resin and glue "droppings" that accumulated on them during the wall-build :D

Shocks (relocate, weld)

Paint the dome light housing (it falls every time the bass hits anyway)

replace front driver ground level sensor (broke it)

replace air pressure sensor (leaking, not shutting the system down @ 200psi FTL! )

paint job and rims is ON HIM - i await his call as i get ready to start the Tahoe!
