The first amp I can remember the name of was a Pheonix Gold XS6600. I still have it. The ones before it were old swap meet crap that advertise only max ratings and probly had under 500wrms. Don't remember the name I any of them.

DUAL 300 WATTS Mosfet power supply XPA2500

about 4 or 5 years ago

RMS POWER OUTPUT @ 14.4VDC

  • 50 WATTS x 2 @ 4 OHMS
  • 75 WATTS x 2 @ 2 OHMS
  • 150 WATTS x 1 @ 4 OHMS (BRIDGED)

I used the gain as the "Bass knob" lol. And ran it off a power supply so it was only getting like 12 volts when not playing and 11 and below when playing and less then the amps the amplifire requires so it would go into protect a lot. then I got a this. http://www.amazon.com/Dual-XPE2700-2-Channel-MOSFET-Amplifier/dp/B004D39CI6/ref=sr_1_18?s=car&ie=UTF8&qid=1369721164&sr=1-18

This really brings me back! I bought my first amp in the late 80's and it was a Zapco s-80.

Seriously powerful and it killed my two SAS Bazooka bass tubes in my mini-truck. Loved that little amp.
