Purplehaze
Hello SMD world! Purplehaze here with a whole new thread full of pics and videos of where I'm at so far, as well as the entire second stage of this build. I decided to split the project into three separate stages, so I can pay full attn to what I'm doing, AND so it will be easier to look through the build. If you want to see how anything was done thus far, click here. Stage 1 was the initial install. Stage 2 is fiberglass, box and accessories. Stage 3 is drive train, rims, body kit, and paint Stage 4 is a WALL! (Oh yeah) So before we get started on stage 2 , let me get you up to date w/ the current progress from stage 1. Here is what I have at this moment. Here is a complete walk-thru back in March, it's a little different now: And here it is in action: Okay, so now we are ready to begin stage 2: glass and accessories. Here is what is planned for this stage of the build. 1. Fiberglass all four door panels. 2. Fiberglass the dash panel 3. Fiberglass rear speaker covers 4. Modify/ glass up the center console for volt meter and IPOD 5. Install headrest monitors 6. Install Epic 160 and KQ9 EQ 7. Install Viper Alarm 8. Install red(rear) and blue(front)LED lights 9. Possibly glass/ Plexiglas the amp rack So anyway, I have a TON of work ahead of me, and I can't wait! This whole process has been more fun than I ever would have dreamed! So thanks for reading, and please feel free to leave comments/ opinions. ptcary
Looks great! If you run into mechanical questions, www.ptcrew.com is a great site for everything else PT Cruiser related, not stereo stuff, though. I am supposed be saving up for a PT paint job too, but have been spending the money on the Mazda right now! Hotdog
Just got done reading though your stage 1 build and jumped over to this Stage 2 part. Nice job on the build. Everything looks clean and you paid attention to detail which makes your build look so much better. and for a $1000.00 budget you just proved that you can put together some nice equipment and do a great install... I like it. how do you like that BULLZ AUDIO 1/0 wire? if you have any left can you take a picture of it with a tape measure so you can see the jacket and the wire. I know it is CCA but there selling 50ft spools with free shipping for 49.00 and I thought about buying some. ptcary
@ ptcary - Thanks man! So, what colors are you thinking for yours? I want the same color I have, w/ some ghost flames! I want a two tone like the factory Dream Cruisers; pearl white on the bottom half and diamond black or graphite on the top half, and I want them to paint my existing decal door flames on the front doors; no more decals, other than an SMD somewhere on the back window. I found the guy to paint it, just need to save up money! Other mods keep getting in the way. I think yours will look great with ghost flames! Your color is nice in the sunlight when its clean; and will look even better with flames. Hotdog
you PT Looks nice I went ahead and ordered a spool of the 1/0 wire and will compare it to my knukoncepts wire when it gets here. I using it on a build that probably will not go over 1000 watts so should be plenty. When I would solder on terminals, I'd have to stick something down in the wire to push it against the terminal.
