I have always wondered what exactly body dropping something is. What exactly do you do to your vehicle and what does it take. Is there any difference between bagging and body dropping. Any input will be appreciated.

A body drop is just that . You cut the floor of the vehicle and lower the body over the floor and weld it back for a lower stance.A body drop is the ultimate low.

Let's say your truck is already bagged and it lays frame. When the truck is laying on the ground there is about a 4-6in of your frame and then the body of the truck so when your trucks lay'd out you can see a little bit of the trucks frame. A bodydrop consists of cutting the firewall and sides/back of the cab and lowering it all the way to the ground then re-welding it back up so when the truck is lay'd out its all the way to the ground and you don't see the frame. A lot of people also call it being doored because on some trucks the doors scrape the ground after a body drop. Hope this helped out a little.

and its a fucking job to trust me

Yeah my buddy went to Settin Trendz in San Jose, CA and his truck was in the shop for 9 months and he paid $7,000 for the bodydrop. It's a lot of work and money. It's not worth it imo unless you have connections.

their 2 different types of bodydrops

-tradition body drop: thats where the floor is raised like stated above

-stock floor body drop: is where a new frame is built (most of the time)from the firewall back out of a smaller size tube. doing this makes for less floor modification and makes it so you don't loose head room.

it looks like you have a c10 but here some pic's of an s10 just so you get the idea

here is a bagged s10 that lays frame.

as you can see the body of the truck is about 3in off the ground

now here a bodydroped s10

You can also channel your truck which is another type of body dropping. You basically pull your interior out and then cut where the frame rails are at then lower the cab and cab mounts to however low you want it to sit. Then just weld in some new metal in the places that you cut.
