Re Mt 15inch Requirements

Recommended Posts

have a box built for 4 15's that was designed for Fosgate but am haveing second thoughts and considering options. Build specs are about 16 cubes with a 200 square inch port 22.5 long. Tuned to 37Hertz. Just was interested how the MT would do with this application?

hey jack, I think they would be fine, I built Christians box for the Integra, the box is 8 cubes after displacement with 125^2 of port area tuned to 35hz. ( 2 mt 15's with 7000+ watts on em and they seem to handle it well)

Ill be splitting 3000 rms @2 total to the four , will that be enough... or should i shoot for different subs, the rf T115 runs 500/1000 so i would have been right in their range

they will get busy with 1500 a piece, but they come Alive with 2kw or more

so 750 each is what they would get with my setup , probably not enough

This is Christian, if all you got is 3000 watts total, you should NOT run MT's. If you want four 15's with that power, FI SSD's or RE SE's will be better. MT's are OK with 1500 watts minimum...but there are MUCH better woofer with even 1500 watts on each. IF you can do 3000 watts on each mt 15, you will be SLAMMIN!!!!!!

There are better choises than MT'swith thr power you have available, but you have many options

1. RF woofers

2. RE woofers

3. FI woofers

4. DD woofers

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer
