DudeWith4x4 Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 This build is close to being done and I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me with making these set up sound and look better. Big shout out to 727designs who really helped me with my box design. That being said here is a sneak peak of the final product if you don't wannt read all of the build. lol. Hello all. I have been reading some of the amazing builds on this website and thought I would try my hand at this, this is one of my first attempts at this so please bear with me. This is oldest picture of my '99 F-150 when I got it when I was 16. All I had done in this picture was put on my light bar that I made. Heres a close up of the light bar I built. Before I got my truck I had listened to my dads freinds 10" JL sub and since I felt my first thump of a subwoofer I was hooked. The first thing I did after I put on the light bar was buy a Lightening audio sub and JVC amp and head unit from walmart. After the sub blew I figured I would go all out (or what I thought all out was at the time) and bought 2 Kicker CVR 12s and a Kenwood KAC-7204. I built the box and put the amp under the backseat. Next thing I did was put this low-profile toolbox thought I bought from a salvage yard for $20. It was in the back of a rolled over chevy 1500. The front of it was smashed in but the lid was straight so I just used a porta-power and pushed the front out and now its good as new! Next was new wheels and tires. The Wheels are 16" Vision Warrior 375s and the tires are 285 75s Cooper discovers. Heres some pictures with the new wheels. Next thing I did was put on 2011 F-150 emblems. I retinted my headlights and tail lights with PPG clear and black. Next was Raptor style running lights. Here are some build pictures. Bolt-style LEDS from SuperbrightLEDS.com Plates I made to put them on the grille Installed: My truck with a Raptor (AKA my dream truck) -Ross Project Layla Truck: 99' F-150 Gathering things for my next build. DudeWith4x4 Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Posted June 20, 2011 Next thing installed was a Spectre Intake: Removed running boards: Put in another Kenwood KAC-7204 and put in my Kicker Comp10s. I bought two sets of the Kicker DS68.2s. Here are the tweets in my front doors and bought a Kenwood KAC-8404 for the doorspeakers. Back doors: Crossovers in the doorpockets: Next I sold my Kicker CVRS and Kicker Comp10s and then these showed up in the mail Next I decided that I should do something about the 3 amps under my backseat so I decided to build a amp-rack. Planning with cardboard: In and hooked up: -Ross Project Layla Truck: 99' F-150 Gathering things for my next build. Supercharged DCs Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 o and those custom kicker kenwood amps are dope and rare as f*** You do realize he just stuck a Kicker sticker on them, right? The Kenwood KAC-7204 doesn't come with a Kicker emblem embedded on it. Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.
