Big P
As some of you know my sister went to college in humbolt. She took her 1995 pontiac sun fire up there and blew the head gasket. We had the car toed to bonander Pontiac and had the head gasket fixed. (dont ever go there for any thing!) (ever!) I drove the car home and started building a bass race system for my dad. Well the car took a shit. It has the small 4 cyl and shitty 3 speed in it. My question is this. What does it take to swap out the small 4 cyl for the larger 2.2 and 3 speed over drive? Is it a direct bolt in replacement? do i need to swap out half shafts computer or any thing else? Will the spedomiter work? Is what im wanting to do even posible? Mr. 973808
I'm pretty sure it can be done. Have you checked around GM's website for their modified enignes? Quote THE GRADUATE 10:18:2007
str86diesel
I am pretty sure it is a direct bolt in replacement, as the sunfire and cavalier shared a lot of commonalitities between them and the 2.2 started as a cav motor.
