Simple answer-Just run all 4 positives together and all 4 negatives together. You will have a 1 ohm load, and will get the most out of your amp/subs. The link posted above sounds a little different from what you are saying would this be the right way then or no there is a different way. Yeah, You should be fine. Just wire it that way and you will have a final load of 1 ohm going into the amp. And the reason why you said it looked different, Is because it shows you, you can wire it to 1 ohm or 4 ohm. But you want to wire it to 1 ohm, and that's what you posted so you will be fine.
