2003 Dodge Neon 5000 rms reliably how?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I am attempting my first big power build and need some assistance .I am wanting to run 5000 rms Daily with reliability . I know I will need a high output alternator ( mechman 270A) but what else will I probably need?

By calculating I figure I need to support atleast 362 amps. what would I need to do that? does anyone know of any adjustable voltage regulators for Chrysler pvehicles?

hopeful noob

a high output alternator or two would be required. one big agm battery up front and a few in the back and a few runs of 0 gauge or better front to back for positive and negative

5000w + reliable (all day long no problems) + dodge neon, first thing that comes to mind is ripping that AC compressor out and getting dual alts.

edit: some people might disagree with me but when i think of reliable i think of absolutely 0 voltage drop, and you cant get that with a single 300a alt with over 300amps worth of draw.

ohhh didnt realize it was a neon so i guess just one alternator will have to due.

Yup take out the ac and you can fit two Alts. Is this just a daily or is it going to be competing?
