new alt, how to adjust voltage?

Recommended Posts

When i ordered matt told me id be able to adjust the voltage, but how? Its a 270 amp alt 02 jeep grand cherokee 4.0

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?

if your alt coming with an AVBM it will look like this circled in red

mymechman000.jpg

you will be able to use a tiny flat head screw driver to turn it to make your adjustments.

watch this video thats basically what your gonna do on yours if you have to. mine out of the box was already 15v cold start out of box but every car different so you can make fine adjustments.

Mechman used to (idk if they still do this anymore) but rihgt near the heatsink on the back of your alternator where the regulator is there is a tiny screw in there. I dont have a pic but there was one on here somewhere. They only had these in the regulators with the red painted heatsinks. If your alt has this then it will be a pain in the butt to get to sometimes depending on your engines setup but all you need to do is get behind there and turn the screw a little to adjust it. It will be the same procedures as posted by crunkjuice but the adjustment screw is in the back of the alt.

If you can look at the back of your alt and look in particular where the small and short heatsink is. If its painted red then you should have this, if its not then you prob dont have it. If you dont see it post a pic of the rear of your alt and i can see whether you have it or not.
