MOST can only provide an amp. this is why I always put remote on a relay....always. I would have ran a relay if i had problems turning on any of my equipment but luckily i didnt. It would be of best interest for a relay if you have problems turning on the amps or only a select few if any turn on. Most of the times headunits only put out around 850 milli-amps of current through the remote wire so that isnt crap for some amps to kick on with. The relay trick will give it the power it needs to kick on and keep it running and not have you worrying about stressing out the headunit to supply all that power to the amps since the relay is doing the hard part for you.
