Wall Sketch: 8 18's Compact Car

Recommended Posts

This is a quick sketch of a wall design for a 4 door compact car or hatch, with a 4 subs in a clam shell with a port in the middle, as well as side ports being for the front chamber of the subs that are mounted on the sides of the rear chamber of the clam shell. All backs of the woofers are in the same chamber that fire through the port that is in the center of the clam shell. No particular tuning goal, just an open design for a wall with 8 18's or 15's for a compact car. The wall and port would be at the back of the front seats to the back of the car with spacing for amp rack and batteries. What are your thoughts?

Here's a follow up concentrated design of it:

First question, how the hell are going to load those rear chamber subs? and unless those side ports are really skinny, your not sticking like 50 wide in a compact car.

Maybe if you were looking to run around 30,000wrms. Looks like space would be a HUGE issue.

Those are some sweet drawings though. :good:

Just added a more designed version of the setup. I did some base measurements for my car 49 across 38 high and 46 depth. Also I was thinking if this were to be a setup using subs that are not as tall. The second photo of all the sides is a scaled down version.

Thank you, I was thinking like no more than 1,000 each on the max side.
