has anyone chopped the exhaust b4 the axel and kept it quiet

Dumped after the cats (4 total) wasn't too bad, tolerable.

I have done a couple and what seems to work real well as far as a nice tone with harshness and a low smooth idle, stock pipes chop the muffler do a flowmaster 40series (delta flow iirc) single in dual out and then add turn downs. And these have all been tahoe or suburbans. the shops and customers trucks.

i used to have a 89 s10 blazer with a cnc 350 small block and decided to run true duals and dump it right after the cat and it was the worst mistake of my life...wound up getting 3 tickets for noise violations..plus not to mention when i had to go get emmisions the next year
