Skullz
While not the cheapest they do sound good and are light weight and can play the full range very well even near the sub frequencies so requiring a high pass cut-off isn't required. One thing to note if you do decide to get them is they are bright in the tweet's for a few weeks and then they will mellow out and allow you to turn the treble back to 0. All in all i'm pretty happy with them and they can pump out some nice deep bass and play everything i have thrown at them with authority. theTank77
I've used these in the past in my own car. It says 400 watt each but I never put more than 125 each at them and they sounded pretty decent http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-VOLFENHAG-ZX869R-6x9-1600W-4-Way-Car-Audio-Speakers-/390351697212?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item5ae2c6353c I've used these ones too. I used them because i got them on sale and I was surprised how good they actually sounded for being Dual http://www.ebay.com/itm/DUAL-SBX-694-CAR-AUDIO-STEREO-6X9-6-X9-4-WAY-BLUE-ILLUMINITE-SPEAKERS-SET-PAIR-?cmd=ViewItem&hash=item4cfa4a1bdb&item=330616675291&pt=Car_Speakers I actually made a lil vid of these back in the day. back in 2009 it fails i know. and yes i know the music isnt the best but this was a couple years ago Edited October 11, 2011 by theTank77 Quote my build log

loganberry
What's the biggest difference beteween two and three way besides the obvious I mean I'm not completely retarded but is it really that less loud on the high end, and has anyone ever ran these primes? How are they on the bass side. What I'm gonna do with them is after my wall is in and the trim panels are on that leaves 3 windows that I could have fun with so I was gonna build a face with some 2x4s holding it to the box so the x9s are free air just like in a door and was gonna do 4 per door with some fleece wrapping so it looks all snug when I room down all the windows with some blue led strips hidden in there somehow. Won't be easy but this way I can still open the back doors to store small items and with what I'm going to be fiberglassing in my front doors it should be balls loud and all 6 sets will be ran off 2 crunch pzi 900.4s on a switch so there not constantly going. Would I get more bass out of them free air or in a small box and if you have ran the RF give me you're.opinion 2 or 3 way...cause ill most likely be buying the 3 ways since its like 300 bucks in x9s Quote My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
Joe X
You are not going to get any true bass from 6x9s, you get midbass at most, no matter how many you put, those speakers will not perform well on boxes, are designed to work in infinite baffle settings like your rear deck, will loose low end. 3 way will pickup earlier midrange frequencies which the big oval driver can't reproduce accurately. There are very good and inexpensive subs to choose from that will get you real bass (30-40Hz). Take a look: MB-Quart-FWA-304D
