I walk into a high-end wine/booze shop and ask about some brands, Hennessy in particular. The snobbish guy manning the spirits section gets a pained looked on his face when I bring up Hennessy and says something like: "Well, err, it's a bit sweet and err, popular in the Asian and African-American communities." <wink, wink> (Neither of us being black or Asian, the "wink-wink" at the end was assumed.) Having kind of a sweet tooth myself, I thanked him for his time, drove to a competitor down the street, and bought a bottle of Hennessy X.O. for a c-note and a half. It supposedly lasts for a year and I'm not a heavy drinker so that's how I justified it... Anyways the stuff is quite good, fully worthy of being rapped about. (Although I do greatly prefer it "neat" as opposed to "on-the-rocks"). This bottle may not last as long as a year, in which case I will have to reconsider my price point... damn went straight for the xo very nice. i've had some hennessy but never xo i wan a try it one day.
