WalledSonic
All of the charging instructions here and on the website neglect mentioning alternator charge voltage. Are there negative repercussions for charging at 14.8V via alternator all the time? Read the above links^ I guess i'll be damaging my batteries then. I see a lot of folks on here in hot climates that i know are charging in the upper 14s. The word 'alternator' doesnt show up on the instructions, but XS charging equipment sure does. So i figured this thread would be a good place to clear that up. Btw Karkov, i found plenty of information on why the intellicharger is different than other chargers. Its pretty clear on the same link you sent. I guess we all have a topic we want clarified. Lilkiller909
Can i use a optima 1200 charger to charge my d3100? And if i can, at how many amps should i charge it? Edited July 10, 2017 by Lilkiller909
audiofanaticz
Yes you can, I would use a low setting around 3-5 amps, you dont want to use any higher settings ever really when charging batteries, too much amperage can cook batteries.
