Hey Steve... not sure of the best way to get in contact w/ you... but Ive got a quick quesiton about this swap...

I just installed my d3100 under the hood of my 03' and I'm trying to figure out what your using to actually hold the battery in the tray...?

The factory rubber mount wont do anything and I didnt know if you had it strapped or what...

I'm trying to figure out a permanent solution to the strap thats holding mine in at the moment.

Thanks man!

I use the G-TF1 mount...

thats the Gravity + tight fit lol - no bracket. Its shoe horned in and i guess if i flip my Tahoe i got other things to worry about beside my front battery :D

i wouldnt suggest anyone do that with a battery that is loose and can move though. This one is in very tight so im not sweating it.

lol... Mine is a bit on the loose side so Ive gotta come up with somethin... I dont like the idea of an 80# projectile under the hood..

I'll prolly just cut some all thread and come up on both sides of the battery through the factory tray and secure it with wingnuts or something of that nature... we'll see.

Thanks anyways man

Did you cut into the driver fender to make this fit, I am wanting to do this on my 01 sierra. I figure I will just make a new battery tray or use some all thread to secure it. Thanks

What exactly did you cut and bend down, the top lip of the fender? And will a d3100 fit with no cutting or that is a must?

the flange thing on the inside. I just make a few "relief" cuts and bend the tabs down. The rubber seal stays in place and you cant hardly even tell its been cut with that on top of it. I dont think you can do it without cutting due to the radiator hose being in the way. My hose actually touches the battery slightly but i put a small piece of rubber in between to keep it from getting hot or chaffing.
