baaudio
if youre stuck on shallows i would recommend the memphis shallows. they handle a solid 500 watts rms and sound louder and cleaner then the p3 shallows imo. the shop i work at ive sold memphis shallows, rf shallows, kicker cvt and pioneer shallows. ive heard them all. the rockfords are good subwoofers, but i like the memphis better. smokeumtires
SA-8s require a ported box and a ton more airspace compared to shallows... I say go with the shallows and keep your space. the SA-8s need arond .5 cubes and the p3S 12" needs about the same. they are identical in terms of wattage. both are 400 rms and just fyi< i wouldnt push over that for eather sub unless you know what you are doing. if it was my truck, i would do the SA-8s. do the subs just under were the side pasasngers sit and the port right dead middle. Porting a box isnt that comoplicanted. if you want, i can help you threw the prosses. that way you have some1 to ask questions to. They need roughly the same airspace, BUT the displacement of the SA-8 compared to the shallow also makes a difference on box size. .071 P3 shallow .13 I believe on the SA.... makes a difference when makin a box Just pick one and let us know how it works... I'd do shallows just because That's just what I WOULD DO no other reason I love my SA-8s tho

cc_audio
I'll give you a couple, 1) nobody will kick your SA-8s if you fiberglassthe front of your box using mounting rings like the ones I use. Add a couple bar grills and you'll have no worries ever. And just look at the new SA-8s, I know I'll have my hands on a couple very soon. It's all gone! BassJunkie
My vote is for some sa 8's. They only displace around .04 cubic feet more than the shallows and I don't think that .04 is that much of a loss of airspace. .04+ cubes could be gained by simply sticking the box out a 1/4 further. I would also assume the sa-8s have a bit more motor force than the shallow mounts. 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free.
