DD3515 on 1.8k in 2G Eclipse Build **NEW VIDEO**

Recommended Posts

I recently sold my little JBL/RF 2 10's setup and aquired a Digital Designs 3515 from a buddy. After many attempts at the RE L port Calculator and the help of people on several forums, we finalized the box design and commenced with building. The box is 4.339 cubes(without displacement) and is tuned to 35 hz. People on here suggested the Audiopipe AP1800D so I ordered one aswell as a dbLINKS 0 guage kit and 3.5 Farad Capacitor. I know dbLINKS isn't the best but I figured I didnt need a full 0 guage kit so if it was undersized, it was ok. All the equipment should be here by tomorrow and the install will be complete by Sunday at the latest. An Optima Yellowtop should be coming with the next paycheck and I plan to rebuild the alternator at some point, but until then I will rely on storage rather than charging. Feel free to comment honestly but please be constructive. THANKS!

P.S. We will be doing a vanity cover so you wont see the box, only the sub and port.

even though you already built the box i would double check it in torres to make sure everythings correct because the RE calculator is known to be off by a little bit. also, i would recommend you get rid of the capacitor as they do more harm than help. the car looks good though! cant wait to see this build come along.

PS: where did you get a green sub?

Whats wrong with a capacitor?

And the sub isn't green, just the glare.

do your research on this site about caps...and you be the judge...

from what ive learned here...

2nd battery is 1000x better... caps will pull power almost as fast as it releases it... if you dont have the battery bank to support it, its jus extra strain on you system. IMO caps are not necessary for anything under 5k rms...

Everybody wants their system to be....

1. Cheap

2. Reliable

3. Loud

...you can only pick two.

So no cap is better than a cap? I plan on doing a second bat and upgrated although soon but the cap was to get me from then and til now. From what I researched a bat is better than a cap, I get that, but can a cap cause harm?

A cap, and a battery, are around the same price, so you might as well get another battery. All a cap does is store energy, so once its drained, it will start stressing your electrical which can cause your amps to recieve low voltage and from that give out a clipped signal to your subs

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

Yea but the capacitor is already here and I cant return it so until I get another bat and upgraded alt, is it safe to use the cap?
