Charging System Upgrade Kits - Our Spin on the Big Three

Recommended Posts

One of the most popular things we offer are our Charging System Upgrade Kits. These kits are ideal when you upgrade to a high-output alternator. We offer them in 4 AWG, 2 AWG, and 1/0 AWG sizes:

- Our 4 AWG kits are suitable for alternators making up to 150 Amps of output

- Our 2 AWG kits are suitable for alternators making up to 225 Amps of output

- Our 1/0 AWG kits are suitable for alternators making up to 300 Amps of output

[Got something bigger? Running multiple alts? Yep, we'll custom make a kit to suit your needs.]

Each is available in 3, 4, or 5 foot lengths for Top Post or Side Post applications. Finally, our kits are pre-assembled and require NO specialized electrical tools to install them.

Here are a few things that make our kits stand out:

- We use tinned OFC cable that is fully compliant with the American Wire Gauge (AWG) specifications

- We use tin-plated copper lugs that are made from the thickest stock we know of

- All lugs are installed in-house with our crimping press

- All terminations are insulated with adhesive lined super thick heat shrink tubing

- Each kit includes the highest quality Grade 5 hardware that we can source and everything you need is included

- Each comes with complete STEP BY STEP full-color instructions - CLICK to view them

We offer two popular upgrades:

- Upgrade to triple output battery clamps (each output accommodates 1/0 AWG, 2 AWG, 4 AWG OR 8 AWG)

- Add an ANL fuse holder & fuse on the charge lead

Here's a video that shows BEFORE and AFTER results of one of our 4 AWG Charging System Upgrade Kits on a 1970 Chevelle. The owner of this vehicle just wanted to get the best performance from his new alternator that he could.

Thanks - that is the premise of our kit philosophy. We design it, install a bunch of them ourselves, fine tune it every step of the way, develop excellent step-by-step instructions . . . THEN we offer it for sale.
